Yay. Cheers. We made it through another week. We made it through the first week of school. We did. Speaker 0
We did. So what? Speaker 1
Already a mosquito or something in my wine. Speaker 0
Oh, just get it out. Speaker 1
I'll trade you. Care. Put your money where your mouth Speaker 0
is. Dworming anyway. Speaker 1
You are deworming. This this bitch doesn't stand a chance Speaker 1
It does, and it come right out. Speaker 0
Oh my gosh. That's amazing. Speaker 1
We have such a fun worm situation to tell y'all about lately. Speaker 0
Yes. So our guest today Mhmm. Little deep tease is the worm queen. Speaker 0
The self proclaimed worm queen. Fascinating conversation with her. I've been doing the worm cleanse. I'm on week two weeks in. The worm cleanse. Yeah. It's so it's it's a fascinating conversation. I was very skeptical about this woman. You know, whenever I first heard about her, I told her that, because we taped the interview earlier this week. But, yeah, it's, I don't know. It's very it's very eye opening. Speaker 1
Yeah. I was telling my family about it last night, and Yeah. I did my, my gutty thing this morning Yeah. Because I'm a little behind you. I was gonna wait for a full moon. Speaker 2
Yeah. I know. I just also Speaker 1
But I just decided after a conversation yesterday. I was so excited. I was like, I gotta get these bad boys out of me. Time to go. If I have any sort of parasite, it's gotta get out of me. Speaker 0
Well and I think what we learned is we all have parasites. I mean, we'll have much more on this a little bit later in the Speaker 0
all you you have there's parasites living inside of you, which I Speaker 1
mean, like and you think about it, it's kinda like, how could there not be, like Right. Yeah. Eating raw raw fish, like some drinking tap water, like she said, gardening Yep. Being outside, You know? Petting your dog who licks its butt Speaker 0
Yeah. And eats its poop. Speaker 1
And then comes and licks your face. Okay. Let's it's it's That's how we all know. Have worms. Speaker 0
I know. We do. But we're gonna talk to the worm cream. Worm the worm cream? The worm queen later on in the show. Kim Rogers is her name. Speaker 0
Stay tuned for that. I love her personality too. Yeah. Like, she oh, she's hilarious. Speaker 1
She DGAF. She's not. Who DGAF. Speaker 0
Who does not GAF. Okay. So one thing we failed to discuss last week is or two weeks ago, we had the conversation about your hardwood floors. And it was a Tuesday, and you were like, and so we're getting new hardwood floors, and they're gonna be ready on Friday. We'll move back into our house. And I was like, okay. Good luck on that, Ace. And, like, twenty four hours later, you texted me and Jasmine were like, so it's gonna be too weak. Speaker 1
Don't text in that voice. Speaker 0
That's what it sounds like when I read it. Speaker 1
That is not my voice. That's like a snotty little bee. Speaker 0
So it's gonna be two weeks. I picture myself more like this. Speaker 1
Like, animal from the office. Don't know what's going on in life ever. I'm just like, I do. Speaker 0
No. Oh, well, wouldn't you know? Okay. That's more accurate. And it's so true. I love you so much, but god almighty, your life gives me so much anxiety. Like, when you told me that the day getting a PRPL because I don't know what I'm doing. Oh my god. Bless your heart. Speaker 1
Someone told me once that this would work, so I gave him a bunch of money. Speaker 0
I know. Oh my god. Not answered. I know. I know. But I did did not wanna be like, so told you so. But I was like, oh, because I at that moment, I wasn't I didn't wanna be the told you so police. Speaker 1
Who gives a shit? Speaker 0
But I wanted to be like Speaker 1
I'm in a low place. Speaker 0
What are you gonna do? Like, what is the plan? What is the strategy? Your kids are going to school in a few days. Like, what is happening? Speaker 1
Fresh off their three week vacation. I mean Speaker 0
So Yeah. But and that's also too what I love about you. I mean, it it gives me anxiety, but I do love it about you. Just like I drive you crazy with my crazy OCD shit, like, it's fine. It's we are who we are. But my question is, how are you doing in this moment? Where are you living? Do you have floors? Speaker 1
Like, what I think this often. Like, it's it's sad and crazy that just because we are a certain age and we've done things in life like birth humans Speaker 0
That you're supposed to Speaker 1
have to be to be responsible for all of these people's lives and things and houses and paperwork for every little thing and medicine. It's like, I didn't do shit to be qualified to do any of this. I just happen to be forty years old with two kids. Yeah. You know? Like, I don't have I don't know anything about home building. I don't know about prescriptions I should be giving my kids. I don't know about, you know, what activities they should or shouldn't be doing and how many times and should they try out for this, and should I let them play with this person or that? Like, no. I'm just one human, and I don't know about a lot of things. Yeah. And I think I'm trying my best, and, I knew that we needed to redo some shit in our house because you heard the mold story. Like, it finally, like, was like, okay. Whether I want to or not or we have money to or not, like, I we either need to move or, like, do this. So we decided, and, we decided to do the kitchen. Oh my gosh. It's just been such a long time coming. It makes me so happy. And I came into the project with the mindset of I am so ready for this and excited for this. Whatever happens is gonna be fine. And it's gonna be worth it. Like Hundred percent. You know, we're all I go always we're all healthy. We're all fine. My kids are you know, we're all resilient. They're whatever. It's not the end of the world. It's it's just where we're laying the rest of our head each night, that we, you know, kinda need to figure out. But yeah. So they did the kitchen, and then the floors were not part of the initial plan. But, you know, when you're doing kitchen floors, it makes sense to try and do all the floors. You've got the floor guys there. They have got a good price. Like, they can do it all. And, I was just kinda I don't know. Not I would say convinced, but they didn't have to do much convincing because I wanted to do it anyway. Because we had four different types of floor downstairs, like carpet, laminate, brick, and hard engineered hardwood in the front room. So it was kinda making me insane. And I just figured, let's just do it. I have the family concierge. I knew they could help me move out. They're amazing. And I had two days, move everything out right after we got back from Canada, and I did it. And so we got everything moved out, ready to go, and then, yes, started the floor project. And I don't know where things got haywire. It wasn't with my contractor. Maybe he's still learning too. I don't know. But, yeah, it doesn't take four to five days. It you gotta you gotta, like, put them in, let them acclimate for Speaker 0
a week. If they're if they're, like, true hardwood floors. Yeah. I mean, like, you have the engineered hardwoods or whatever. Those can go in, and you can walk on them and do whatever. But, like, if you're doing the hardwoods and I just know that because we had those in our previous house. Yeah. And it's a and then you have to let it like like you said, let it settle with the humidity and all that bullshit, and then they have to stain them, which can't walk on them for a while after that. So I was just doing the math in my head and being like, Speaker 1
I know. And you weren't the only one. Speaker 0
Yeah. But I think what happened is your contractor saw knew you wanted to do it, saw an opening, and and slid on in there. Yeah. Speaker 1
I think so. But they're in. They're not done. They look great. It looks awesome. Speaker 0
So are they all throughout even in your bedroom? Speaker 1
Yes. Even in my bed. Whole downstairs. The whole downstairs. Oh, you're gonna love it. The whole downstairs. Speaker 0
It'll be so worth it. Speaker 1
It'll be so worth it. In a, you know, in a few months, I won't remember any of this Nope. Ever happened. But now they're in, and we were supposed to move back in Saturday. And I think because we gave them, like, two weeks wiggle room by getting this VRBO, they're they squeezed in another job or something. So they're not finishing they're not starting the next step, which is sealing them, sanding, sealing, and all that till Wednesday. So I don't think we can move in Saturday as planned. So I just got that hit with that yesterday. So, yeah, so currently, Sunday night, I might be at your house Speaker 1
Or the side of the road or in the upstairs of my house. That's the thing. We can all go upstairs and sleep if we have to. Yeah. And so that's probably what we'll end up doing is just sleep up there Sunday. And then Monday, when the kids are at school, have the whole team come move everything in, have my ladies from family concierge and get us all set, and then they'll come home from school, and it'll be, like, one of those TV shows. Like Yeah. Tada. Tada. So that's probably what's gonna end up happening. But, yeah, it's it's a process. It's a long it's a big process doing the real hardwoods. Yeah. Speaker 0
And re just remodeling in general. Like, I've always heard that if, like, you're gonna remodel or do an addition or something like that, like, it you wanna stay in your house, but, like, it's almost better just to cut bait. Yeah. And that's why you always hear, like, it's easier to build a house from the ground up than it is to remodel one. Speaker 0
Just because a lot of times when you're remodeling, you're doing it with older homes, you run into they you you're pulling stuff back. You're uncovering other issues, all that kind of stuff. Speaker 1
But Yeah. Like the pipe issue they found yesterday Yeah. That they had to bring a plumber in for. K. I haven't heard anything else, so I'm hoping it was minor, like, kind of a quick fix. But, yeah, there's a lot. So had I I I don't know. I mean, I think to to build a new home is way more expensive. So that wasn't really on the table right now, and I needed to do the kitchen. But it is a lot. And, the kitchen's coming together, and it looks great so far. They have the cabinets in. I can show you some videos. Yeah. Looks really good. I'm I'm gonna make some trying to make some last minute decisions, with colors and and countertops and vent hoods and things like that. And that's another thing, something I'm not qualified for at all. So, bringing in a little help to help me with that. But it it it's it's coming together. It's gonna be great, and the kitchen will not be ready, you know, when we move in. That wasn't the kitchen will probably need another couple weeks. Yeah. But I can handle living there without the kitchen. But living there without the whole first floor and kitchen,
Speaker 1
So, anyway, there's my update. But the VRBO, you know, it's been kinda fun. It's been kinda fun to be we're not far from our house, but in a little bit of a different part of the area. Fun to see different things, different places, go to different restaurants, see how we all exist in, like, a smaller one story instead of all being separated in a two story home, and it's fun. I don't I haven't minded it one bit, but, yeah, it'll be great to be back in.
Speaker 0
Yeah. That is super exciting. I'm excited for you, and all I have to say is better you than me, girl. Better.
Speaker 1
Oh, yeah. I would love for you to be forced to, like, live like me for two weeks.
Speaker 0
Crash out so hard. It would not even be it would not even be a question. Yeah. This is how how far my OCD has gone, and how prevalent it is that now Henry's best friend, Wyatt, who's at our house all the time, and I love the kid. Yeah. And my love a pickleball partner.
Speaker 1
Do what? My pickleball partner.
Speaker 0
Oh, yeah. Yeah. You know Wyatt. Yeah. So now Wyatt has started rearranging shit in my house. Oh. Like moving mess
Speaker 0
Mhmm. Like, moving stuff in the refrigerator, little little things. Because I thought no one's been in our house, and I'm like, oh my gosh. Wyatt is starting to
Speaker 1
do this. Who needs toilet papering anymore? We can all just go mess with
Speaker 0
Harry's mom. Exactly. Exactly.
Speaker 1
So new fun activity.
Speaker 0
That just shows you how effed up I am. That's amazing. My kids' friends are noticing.
Speaker 1
It's funny. It's a fun built in activity for them.
Speaker 0
It is. It is. Okay. Let's talk a little, sports scores brought to us by our friends at EarlyBird CBD. You could probably use a couple lately.
Speaker 1
I could. Yes. Love my friends at early bird CBD was wearing their little T shirt yesterday. Most important thing, we have a code that you can use. It is now active mom game twenty. It's good for twenty percent off of your first order online. This is a CBD. Oh, there's drums. Oh my gosh. It's the Mavs drum line.
Speaker 0
Drum line's here.
Speaker 1
I Okay. Okay. Well, if y'all can hear that So I
Speaker 0
think you should do the early bird read to the rhythm of the Mavs drum line.
Speaker 1
Mom game twenty is now active. Good for twenty percent of your first order online. It's a new code. I can't keep up with that beat. I don't really know. This is a new code, so it can be used by someone, just once even if you've purchased previously. Go to the website early bird c b d dot com, and what this is is a really nice gummy that makes you feel good, kinda takes the edge off right before bed. You might have your glass of wine and maybe before bed, and maybe you don't need that anymore if you just enjoy some early bird gummies. There is a micro dose of THC from hemp, and that's the core feature of the gummies. And, just an advisory. Don't take take one of these and then do a drug test at
Speaker 0
work because it might not pass.
Speaker 1
But this is going to help you relax, which if you've listened to one minute of us talking today, we could all use a little relaxation. And I have a feeling moms with kids, starting school again are in the same boat, dads as well. Mom game twenty, once again, is that code early bird c b d dot com. Love me some early bird.
Speaker 0
Yeah. I've been I I've been cutting down on my drinking at the nighttime since I've been going to bed early and just pop a couple early birds. Twenty minutes later, I am in my snooze zone. Mhmm. It's amazing. Okay. Snooze control and snooze controls. Not a ton of sports stuff going on right now. I know. It's weird. It's kinda quiet. Cowboys are cowboys. Still no Mica deal. Preseason games, they suck.
Speaker 1
Do we think he'll end up as a cowboy this season? Yes or no?
Speaker 1
I do. I do. Do you? I don't. You don't think he'll be a cowboy this season? Do you think he'll be a great hit? Yesterday. Okay. I don't know. It just sounds like it's getting personal.
Speaker 0
does sound like it's getting personal.
Speaker 1
It might be more him. Like, once you don't wanna play for someone, don't wanna work for someone, don't wanna work with someone
Speaker 1
Hard to enjoy yourself. So I don't know. I I'm I was thinking it was all kinda just Gonna go away. Worked out. Yeah. But yesterday, it's like the more and more I'm hearing, it's like, no. Something happened with him and Jerry. And
Speaker 0
Yeah. I think I heard on the radio this morning, that, like, Adam Schefter was saying, like, that he feels like a divorce is coming, not necessarily this year because they can still if they ride him out this year, next, like, twenty four million, and then they have the opportunity to franchise tag him, that then that might the trade might come, like, in the off season or next off season or something like that. But a long term relationship between
Speaker 0
Micah and the cowboys might not be the cards. And so Obviously, there's people far, far, far more connected. I mean, I'm not, like, I'm not connected at all. I just Yeah. But that was on the radio
Speaker 1
or whatever. That's what you heard Right.
Speaker 1
who is. It's it's hard because it's football is such a hard game, and you have to be so passionate. Right? Like, you have to want it. And I think he could probably block out the stuff with the owner, but I also don't know that he can't. He just people love him because he wears his emotions on his sleeve. Like, he's Like, if you don't wanna play for someone and you're gonna go out there and put your body on the line for them just because you're getting paid a lot for one year, I don't think that's a good recipe for success.
Speaker 0
I well, I I see what you're saying, but I will say in being around the vast majority of professional athletes that have been around over the years, that there is a there there are some that like, you look at, like, Josh Hamilton, for example. Josh didn't love baseball. Josh didn't I mean
Speaker 1
He was just good.
Speaker 0
He was good. Like, he doesn't watch baseball. He never watched baseball outside of when he played for, you know, whatever team he was on. Since then, he said he doesn't watch doesn't keep up with it, you know, in his post retirement life. There are some people like but, like, this is just what they, you know, were good at it. This is kind of the route that they went. I think with a guy like Micah, he's so competitive, not only just in football, but, like, with himself that, like, I think there's gonna be a I think with the vast this has been the most ridiculous roundabout point I've tried to make. I think with the vast majority of professional athletes, there is that inner competition and the desire to be the best, the best that you can be, the best. And for for someone like him, possibly the best in the game, that I don't think there's gonna be no half assing it. And I think football is such a hard sport to half ass it because you run the risk of being injured so easily, that I I I wouldn't worry about that with him. Yeah. And he'll probably compete, like, with himself. That's why he won't let the numbers of them. Right. You get the numbers into and if he doesn't sign a deal with the Cowboys, if he's plays this season, it's gonna be for whoever Yeah. He's playing for next.
Speaker 0
Exactly. So I don't think that's something to worry about, but I do worry about the fracture within that within that within that relationship because he is such a public he's such a forward facing guy.
Speaker 1
We'll talk about it on his podcast all year.
Speaker 0
And it's the like, with Yeah. The negotiations with, like, DAC and CD, like, those were different. Those were kept relatively quiet. You know, and those guys just handled it differently, and I don't think Micah will obviously, he's not handling it the same as they do.
Speaker 1
Yeah. It'll be interesting. Yeah. And it's kinda sad. Like, if it it's sad that it's happening. It'll be real sad if he's not a cowboy.
Speaker 1
I'm talking about, like, one
Speaker 0
of the best players in the I mean, top five for sure defensive player in the NFL.
Speaker 1
Right. Not to mention, like, super lovable and, like, affable and Yeah. Like, kids love them. I went to the preseason game Oh, yeah. Yeah. Last weekend, thanks to Kendra Scott and the junior Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. We had a merging of both things.
Speaker 1
Open up your gift. Oh, okay.
Speaker 0
I got this from Kendra Scott.
Speaker 1
Yes. I know. Don't you love a nice
Speaker 1
Yellow box surprise. Anything anything
Speaker 0
anything that comes in a yellow box is gonna be good. Okay. Finish your story.
Speaker 1
So with Micah, when we were in we were leaving the field and popped into the pro shop, and I was looking around at all the jerseys, and it was like a moment like, okay. There's Dax, Sidi, and Micah, like, everywhere. Yeah. And Micah is usually who my kids would go for. I'm like, do I would I buy them a Micah jersey right now? It you know, it's like he's one of the faces of the team, and it's sad because there would have to be a lot of, there would be a lot of aftereffects if he was not a Dallas cowboy anymore going all the way to fans and pro shops and jerseys and everything else just like Luca. I mean, it would be also way too close in proximity to the time that the Dallas fans lost Luca. It would be very sad. So I hope that they can work it all out. And, yes, a big fat check or talking about money and him getting a lot of money will help eliminate all of this maybe from his brain, but it's just kinda sad. I just hate that professional sports has come to us so much money talk. I know. What'd you get?
Speaker 0
College sports is the same way. I know. I got this cute little cowboy's bracelet, and I'm trying to hook it on.
Speaker 1
Oh, that is really cute. So cute. Yes. Thank you. Love it.
Speaker 0
Okay. Well, the and the videos looked so cute of Anna dancing on the field.
Speaker 1
Yeah. It was so fun. Future DCC. Mhmm. That was probably her only time ever dancing on the field. But maybe Or no.
Speaker 0
You never know. Never see. Never. Never know. Okay. Other sportsy stuff, rangers. Oh, bump bump. They're just it's not it's not
Speaker 0
It's not good. It's not getting better.
Speaker 1
You're not saying there's a chance?
Speaker 0
You're saying There is a chance. Not saying there's a chance. I'm saying there's a chance. I'm saying the chance is very small. Now you're competing with, like, five, six teams for the last wild card spot. You're, like, five, six games back. It's just they can't seem to get the offense going. It's just same story. And it's like, at this point, the thing that's hardest, I think, for me as a Rangers fan and, you know, someone who's covered the team for so long, especially that twenty twenty three World Series season, is that these guys that you thought were going to be such staples for you for many years to come are just not performing. And I think in twenty twenty four, we all kinda said, well, coming off the world series and, yeah, everyone's gonna have a little bit of a, for lack of a better word, hangover and a a comedown and, you know, all that kind of stuff. And then now that it's, like, you know, two seasons in a row, it's like, you kinda have to look at at your roster and be like, this is who they are the last two years. You can't look at twenty twenty three anymore. What are we talking about? You have to look at twenty four, and you have to look at twenty five. You know, Dolly. Yeah. Josh Young has been injured, but he has been very inconsistent. Marcus has been up and down, but he's he's he's such a he's such a stabilizing force. Corey has been good, but even by but by Corey standards, he hasn't been, you
Speaker 2
know, what he was. Yeah.
Speaker 0
Jonah Heim has not been good. Josh Smith has been probably one of the most consistent guys even last season too. Mhmm. You know, and he's Yeah. That whole point is cool. A utility player. But, you know, so you it's just it's and the pitching's been so good, and it just feels like you've wasted wasted it. And I hate that word, but it's just like, ugh. So it's just it's hard to watch because you feel like these guys should be performing at such a different level, and they just haven't.
Speaker 1
And they're probably so frustrated.
Speaker 0
They are so frustrated, and they are it's just it's just hard. So I think there's there's gonna be a lot of tough decisions made this offseason. So but
Speaker 1
Well, that's a good Rangers update. No fun. No fun. I mean, not positive, but a good recap of where we're at.
Speaker 0
Missing. Yeah. Alright. Let's get to some feed stuff because that's where the heart of our show is, leading up to our worm queen guest. Worm queen guest. What's on our feed brought to to us by our friends at Audrey Dollens Media.
Speaker 1
Yes. Thank you to Audrey Dollens Media for helping us look like we have our rest together when we really don't.
Speaker 1
They help us with our social media. Everything you see out on social media that looks really nice and pretty, it's done by them. And they also help us with a lot of different collaborations. They can help us collaborate with you if you're interested in having Emily and I, work with you or somebody you know and to help grow your business. They also help with brand management, monetization management, collaboration management, like I mentioned, influencer management, content creation, and photography, social media management, and website design. If you're not getting our newsletter, what are you waiting for? There's magic in there. Magic and surprises and gold. There's gold in there.
Speaker 0
Wow. Yeah. Like, real gold
Speaker 1
in I didn't know that. Computer website. Go to the mom game pod dot com. There's a little pop up. You can type in your email address, and then you will get the newsletter with gold on the inside.
Speaker 0
False advertising. Okay. First thing I wanna talk about we've got a few things to talk about socially. The first thing I wanna talk about is Taylor on the new hire. Did you watch it? I watched every Yeah. Second. I listened to Yay. I listened to every word she said. I I loved it. I but here's the thing I came away from. First of all, she she is so incredibly likable. Yeah. Like, people that hate on her for just being so effing popular and rich, like, you're just you suck and Jelly. Yeah. You're totes jelly. She's so likable. Mhmm. She's so self deprecating. Mhmm. The only thing that made me cringe a little bit is Travis is too in love with her. Like, he is too much.
Speaker 1
He's like a puppy dog.
Speaker 0
Like, when he was like, you're so athletic. She's like, I'm not athletic at all. I can't you know? And you throw a great spiral. I don't throw spirals. Like, she's like, what are you talking about? But, like, he's so obsessed with her that if if they were new in this relationship, like, if this relationship was two months old, I'd be like, isn't it called, like, love bombing or something? Yeah. I would be like, he's totally love bombing her. He needs to get over it. Is it? Mhmm. So but because of the fact that they've been together for two years, I'm like, Jesus Christ. He's still like like a puppy dog with her. Like Which It's adorable. Listen. It is adorable, and I think it's great. But he is so obsessed with her. And I again, I think it's great. If it were two months old, I would think I would be very suspicious. The fact that it's two years, I'm like, this dude is just like I like you said, I'm the luckiest guy in the world, which he he should feel that way. Like, you're married to one of the most successful, creative, smartest, richest women in the fucking world. Yes. You should think you're the luckiest man in the world.
Speaker 1
Because Soon to be maybe married.
Speaker 0
She she is the catch. Mhmm. And I also think he's cool too. Like, he's kinda like, but he's funny. He's handsome. He's got a great body. Like, there's lots of great things about Travis Kelce.
Speaker 0
But, like, if you look at and do you ever think about that? Like, if people look at your marriage and they're like, well, she's obviously the prize here. Or Yeah. You know, do you under I I always wonder if people are like, poor Mike.
Speaker 1
I don't think so. Anyway, they're like, poor Mike. He's gonna put up with a lot
Speaker 0
of shit with this one. Like, do you ever think that? It's so true.
Speaker 0
But, like, do you ever do you ever look at couples like that? They're like you're like,
Speaker 1
I think everyone does.
Speaker 1
think I think everyone, like like, from a distance, like, judges, like and I also do think it's interesting how all of all the people in the world, like, how do all these couples end up together? Yes. And are they a fit in my mind? Because that's what matters. Yeah.
Speaker 1
a fit? And, like Like, do they look like a fit?
Speaker 0
Do you ever think about that?
Speaker 1
of people don't look like a fit.
Speaker 0
And then some people have kids, I'm like, they had sex. Like, how how did that work? Like like, just knowing, like, some people's personalities are like, I mean, what? I mean, not that I'm, like, thinking about it, but I guess I am. Like, those two people I know. Had sex enough times to make a couple of babies.
Speaker 1
Right. A lot of times.
Speaker 0
And that just goes to show.
Speaker 1
May or may not still be.
Speaker 0
There's something, and there's someone for everyone. Right. And that everyone has sex.
Speaker 1
Yeah. That other babies are made. They are. It is weird to think about.
Speaker 1
Like, some people just
Speaker 0
I should not think about that.
Speaker 1
I ever wanna think about that. I know.
Speaker 0
I I need to put it out of my hand. This is the problem with me. I can't my mind doesn't ever stop. So it's like, it'll go from like, oh, you know, I got work calls to make, and then it's like, oh god. Those two people having sex, that seems weird. And it's like Same. Get it together. Get it together. This is why I have my AirPods in all day listening to other things. I need to listen to other people talk so I don't have to listen to the voices in my head. Mhmm.
Speaker 1
I think that's quite normal.
Speaker 1
Thank you. A lot going on
Speaker 0
Yes. In our brains. I know. But I need to put my friends having sex out of You should. I need to put that out of
Speaker 1
my brain. But you know what? And it it you know what's even weirder to think about? What? You think that that like, how much do men think about that? How much do men think about
Speaker 0
I think they're thinking about
Speaker 1
people that they know
Speaker 0
I bet they're thinking.
Speaker 1
Or, like, women or, like
Speaker 0
Oh, women. Yeah.
Speaker 1
Other women they know.
Speaker 0
Oh. Do you think they're thinking about way weirder shit than we do.
Speaker 1
Like, they're thinking about weird stuff. But they're not like, oh, they seem like a cute couple. I wonder, you know, how they Also too They're thinking like,
Speaker 1
don't know. She's hot. I bet you're gonna wonder if she's
Speaker 0
Also too have to be established think about. That they just don't think. They're just like, they're bitter. Not all dudes, but, like, I don't feel I feel like they think about the things that are necessary.
Speaker 1
Yeah. We didn't discuss those.
Speaker 0
Right. I feel like they're just like, it's like like, what's that, like, black
Speaker 1
The brown noise. Brown noise?
Speaker 0
Or what what remember the are you old enough to remember when TVs had, like, static and it was, like, black and white? Yeah. Like, maybe that's just what it's like.
Speaker 1
That's all it is. But there but sex is in there.
Speaker 0
Oh, for sure. Like It's like, oh, yeah. Oh, good.
Speaker 1
No. And we've solved men's brains.
Speaker 0
So wait. I mean, love you all you. Love And I love men's so much. Love men. Love all of you. But, yeah, it's weird to think. Okay. Anyway, let's move on from that.
Speaker 1
Glenn just put the in our You did?
Speaker 0
I didn't hear it. Okay. So back to
Speaker 1
Travis. Was really good.
Speaker 0
Back to what? Thank you.
Speaker 1
That was a really good song.
Speaker 0
So back to Taylor and Travis. So speaking of yes. I watched every bit of it. I love I love them. I think she's great. I think the the the Easter egg stuff is a little too much for me. Like, when I started seeing it online about she wore orange on the twenty third day of the eighth month and
Speaker 1
she said in the interview, if you don't wanna it's there for the people that want it.
Speaker 1
But she doesn't like, you will never notice it nor do you need to give an f if you're not into all that. She said that it was cool hearing her say that.
Speaker 0
I thought she said some great things. Like, that my energy is a luxury item, and maybe you can't afford it. Like, a fucking mess, sister.
Speaker 1
You haven't earned the capital to afford my energy. And when you start fixating on something, that becomes your day.
Speaker 1
it's so obvious but true, and we need to hear that more. Like, why spend your time and energy
Speaker 1
On someone that doesn't deserve it? And it's good for yeah. We've had these conversations a lot. Hers is on a giant level, of course, but just people saying mean shit. Right. And how you can let it infiltrate your brain and become your day
Speaker 1
Right. I loved it. Yeah.
Speaker 0
I I thought she was great. It was very it was you know, I don't listen to podcasts including our own. Like, I don't I just don't. But I made it a point. I wanted to listen to that, first of all, because I wanna make you proud.
Speaker 0
But I thought she was I wanted to see, like, what they sounded like, what they looked like. And I thought that her interactions with Jason and, like, them talking about the so many like, her interactions with the cats and her his kids and, you know, all that kind of stuff. It just seems like a very, like, normal relationship, which sounds weird to say, but it seems as normal as it could possibly be. And I don't And I hope they get married and have a bunch of babies. And I think they will. Yes. Too soon. I mean, he
Speaker 1
is so obsessed with her. He's so obsessed with her. And I don't know. I don't I know what you are saying. Like, is it too much? But, like, that's the kind of person you need. If you're gonna make it fifty something years into your old age sitting on rockers
Speaker 1
With, like, nothing else to do in the world because your kids have gone to college, and you're just sitting there. Like, that's what you need.
Speaker 0
And I think the fact of the the way she takes it Yeah. Like, as my, you know, outside observer. Like, the way that she takes it, it's not like Right. You know, she's like, no. I'm not athletic. No. I can't throw a smile. Shut up, Jason. You know? And she said a million times, said said her boyfriend. Like Right. Because because he would be like, blah blah blah. She's the best thing ever, and she would be like, said her boyfriend. Like, she's she's very self aware.
Speaker 1
Wrote a song called I'm the problem. It's me. Yeah. Like, she has had issues in the past with, like, self confidence, which is insane. Yeah. But she's very self deprecating, but, also, like, I think it's a real thing. I mean, when you date that many people too that, like, someone finds something wrong with you almost every time, I think it she she's hard on herself. Yeah. But no. Like, I it was just so cool. I'm so glad that she chose to do this, that she chose to announce her album on the podcast because it's just you know, every everybody in the world wants, like, a piece of her. Right? And this was one way to just sit down, give everybody what they want, which is
Speaker 0
In a place where she's comfortable.
Speaker 1
Place where she's comfortable being interviewed by freaking Jason Kelsey. Like, how many media members would kill
Speaker 0
By the way, he's the cutest thing ever.
Speaker 0
Kylie. I mean, they're like, they they just seem like a really cool, fun family. Like, I would totally love to go to one of their family reunions. Like Well, like Kylie seems like such a badass. Mhmm. Like, I feel like she might be number one on my list of people I would like to get on the show.
Speaker 0
Is Kylie Kelsey.
Speaker 1
She'd be great. But, yeah, I think, like, I've seen a lot, like, about, like, this is how real men should act, you know, or whatever just to be able to, like, prop up a real woman. And, like, even people were commenting on the fact that, like, they didn't interrupt her. Like, how many men just interrupt women probably without even not trying to be all feminist y, but, like Right. Without even realizing that they're doing it because they're what they have to say is more important. Right. Or, you know, just the fact that they, like, gave her the space and and that they're always putting her on a pedestal because she deserves to be. And and I I I thought it was a really cool kind of example of how men can treat women that are successful instead of being threatened by them Yeah. Or instead of fearing, like, that they're gonna take some of their shine away because she's so shiny. Like and she's really she's literally written songs about this. Like, that's bejeweled. You know? It's like, I I wasn't getting to be myself in with Jo within her last relationship because he kinda wanted to mute he kinda wanted to, like, keep her quiet and keep her hidden and keep her silent and, like
Speaker 0
because well, and it takes us it's the biggest star in the world. Confident dude. Right. And and, obviously, he's he's he's built for it. He is. He is absolutely built for it.
Speaker 1
He's so confident. He's so funny. I love that, like, she's helping him realize that the shit on the Internet doesn't matter. Like, that was literally something that he said. He was like, I would read everything, and I was bothered mostly because I didn't want her to think less of me because of something she saw on the Internet. He was like, I didn't wanna f this up. You know? But she's helping him have a better perspective on life, and I think I like you said, that that quote about your energy, you know, being expensive, She has the the the perfect mindset for a lot of people and especially her. Some being that famous can you you've seen how many people can crash and burn. Like, look at Britney Spears.
Speaker 1
and if you don't have your head on straight in your perspective in check, it it could be really bad.
Speaker 0
Well, and I think too, so much of that comes with age and experience. Like and I I I feel like that's it's not just for Taylor Swift. It's for all of us. Yeah. That, like, you get to a point where you're just like, these are the things I'm okay with. These are the things I'm not. These are the things I'm gonna put my energy into. These are the things I'm not. And it's Right. It's totally fine. But I thought it was fantastic.
Speaker 1
It was great. It was so fun. I loved all their little silly inside jokes. Yeah. The otters and the bread, and she's just as cheesy and goofy and silly Yes. Cared as, like, us. You know? She's
Speaker 0
a giant dork, which she loves.
Speaker 1
Giant dork. Yeah. And he's, you know, taking care
Speaker 0
of cats and making sourdough. Like, she's a total dork, which
Speaker 1
is awesome. And I love that she said, like, that his kind of, like, going on his podcast and proclaiming his love for her and requesting to go on a date is, like, what she was writing about since she was a kid. You know, when she there's I forget what you belong with me. I think the music video, like, she's literally in her room, like, as a dorky kid, like, and there's a guy in the other house next door. She's just kind of pining away at until he finally holds up a sign. He's like, do you wanna go out to prom or whatever? Like, she's been wanting someone to do something like that, and that's the romantic gesture twenty twenty five version of a romantic gesture. Like, I have a podcast, and I'm gonna go on it and ask to, you know, date you. Yeah. And I love how she made fun of him about it. Like, you know, I
Speaker 0
wanna date you. Where are you? I wanna date Right.
Speaker 1
Like, she's just fucking married.
Speaker 0
Go through any of the protocols that you have to go through when you're, you know, trying to get after Taylor Swift.
Speaker 1
Right. Yeah. And so it's, like, two pronged too, and then I'll shut up about this. But it's like, we got to learn a lot about her. We got to learn a lot about them, and she has a new album coming out that Oh, yeah. Is, like, buried the lead. Right? Like, that's such a huge story. Yeah. She's been working on this for a while. She worked on it the whole time. She was on the heiress tour, so it's all about, like, the behind the scenes of
Speaker 0
Just crazy that she did that while she was on that damn tour. Insane. She is insane.
Speaker 1
I cannot wait for this music. Sure. She called it she and Travis have obviously, Travis has listened. They called it an album of Bangers. Bangers. We're gonna be dancing.
Speaker 1
Singing. Well, let's go. And she's, like, hot now in these pics. Like I know. Putting all these pics out.
Speaker 0
Third. Right? Yeah. Because that adds to thirteen. Look at you. Okay. We I know you had some stuff you wanna talk about. I I mean, I've always told you I love her. I know. I like her. I like her music. I just haven't been I just haven't been, like, so invested. But I love her. I love her, and I want great things for her. Yep. And I told you when I went to her concert, it was fucking badass.
Speaker 0
Yeah. Okay. Are we gonna talk about the Ozempic vulva? Sure.
Speaker 1
You should Okay.
Speaker 0
Go real fast. What else what else do we have before we get to our guest? We gotta
Speaker 1
I can delay my things. Okay. Later.
Speaker 0
Will you put them in the tackle box?
Speaker 1
Yep. I'll put them in the tackle box. Right now. Yeah. We unless you wanna quickly talk about labooboos. What the hell is going on?
Speaker 0
Laboob Labooboo's gonna hold till next week.
Speaker 1
Okay. Can we still use our title, though? Labooboos in in Latavia?
Speaker 0
No. I think we have to put Taylor in the title. Yeah. We can save labooboos and or we just talk about labooboos and labias next week.
Speaker 1
We did talk about labooboos right now by talking about talking about labooboos so we can still tie
Speaker 0
them in. Let's just quick hit labooboos. What the fuck is going on?
Speaker 1
know. That's all it really is.
Speaker 0
So I thankfully, Hattie has not said Labooboo one time. So we're I think we're in the clear. What age group is this happening?
Speaker 1
I think, like, eight through fifteen ish, maybe. So there's still
Speaker 1
that they're gonna get in. Expensive. They're so
Speaker 0
what's what are they? What are they for? What purpose do they serve?
Speaker 1
I don't think they serve a purpose. This is something that somehow, like, has been they're showing kids via social media and people freaking out about it that other people need to get these and freak out about it. Like, I think that's really how it started. It's just a little ugly key chain thing that's like a little stuffy that looks like you'd get from a claw machine. Right. That's what they look like, and they have fangs. They're very ugly.
Speaker 0
Does Anna ask for any of these?
Speaker 1
No. They just learned about them. She's not asking for them. I think she knows better. Like, I never got her an elf pet when everyone was getting pets for their damn elf. She was one of the only ones that didn't get an elf pet.
Speaker 1
And I'd say that Labooboo's in that category. Like, when you're stretching to, like, try and get your kid all the shit just to, like, get your kid the shit
Speaker 0
I've see it's been I'm not gonna do that. It's been the talk on my group chat for a little bit because a couple of the girls that are a little bit younger. Yeah. And so is it now as you're you're a total loser if you have a fake labooboo? I
Speaker 1
think you're a loser. And I saw some headline that was like, some of these fake labooboos are actually, like, dangerous. They're like something in them is, like, dangerous for the kids. So now it's, I don't know. It's next level. Writer is a Pokemon obsession. It's a whole another story. I kind of equate the Labooboos to, like, Pokemon. We took him to this underground Pokemon store Sunday night. It's there it's a whole it's a whole world.
Speaker 0
Oh, give me let's put a pin in that. Put a Oh my god. Hook in that and put it in the tab box.
Speaker 1
I had so many thoughts. But the guy basically told him Ryder brought his little binder and was like, hey. Wanna see if, you know, any of these Pokemon cards are worth anything. The guy was like, I'll take a look at it, buddy. Goes through slowly, slowly, slowly. I'm gonna pass, bud, but thanks for thanks for bringing it in. Let me tell you something. A lot of these are fake. Fake Pokemon cards. Oh my god. They don't have the so he's, like, showing Ryder why they're all fake, and poor Ryder is just, like, hearts breaking. I'm like, well, you wanna play with the big boys?
Speaker 1
You wanna ask for money at some underground Pokemon shop? You're gonna get the the hard truth. And, apparently, he's got fake Pokemons.
Speaker 0
Still trying to get over the fact that you took Ryder to a underground Dude.
Speaker 1
Pokemon store. Is incessant
Speaker 1
With his request. Alright.
Speaker 0
Well, we're gonna talk more about that.
Speaker 1
Jump off of a mountain because he will ask me, like, every two seconds for two hours until I do what he's asking for. Submit. Until I submit. I'm just like, Let's go.
Speaker 0
Okay. Well, there's Labooboo talk. Neither of us understand it. WTF. Okay. Last item before our, guest comes on is the ozempic vulva is making women look aged and droopy down there. So
Speaker 1
we have enough evidence to know this?
Speaker 0
According to the New York Post, you can add Ozempic vulva to the list of Ozempic finger, Ozempic breast, Ozempic face, and Ozempic butt. I will tell you, the only one I've heard of is Ozempic face.
Speaker 0
I have the you can tell. And I don't even know if it's Ozempic Face. It's just like when someone loses a shit ton of weight in a quick amount of time, the first thing you notice is their face, and you're like, oh, wow. You have lost some weight. So apparently, Ozempic and other GLP one drugs have become extremely popular for their ability to manage type two diabetes, blah blah blah blah blah. The rep rapidity of weight loss can cause visible skin sagging, all that kind of stuff, which is normal for, you know, quick weight loss. All areas of the body can show visible skin changes in response to the significant weight loss weight loss, including the lower belly pubic mons and inner and outer labia. So they have complained some GLP one users that their weight loss has led to What are they expecting? Their a decrease in their labia majora causing it to appear deflated or aged. But good news, labia puffing may help. Oh my god. Restores volume in fullness to the labia majora via dermal fillers or fat grafting.
Speaker 1
I do you we've talked about this before. Like, I don't know what all the parts are. Labiaplasty is to reach the labia. Is.
Speaker 0
The labia are the lips. Oh. Right? That's your outside.
Speaker 1
I don't know, man.
Speaker 0
Like the and then there's so anyway, we're gonna do some research and get back to you guys next week on Yeah. On the diagram and everything. Yep. I just know that so down there did you have vaginal births? Yes. So I didn't. So I feel like my shit is tight Congrats. Intact. But I feel like my friends that had the, you know, when the baby shoots out of you, vaginal birth Okay. That that stuff gets a little more it's a little dicier.
Speaker 1
Well, yeah. You shoot a human out of it.
Speaker 0
One hundred percent. Not our fault. Right. So hindsight's twenty twenty. Right? But when I've had Henry and I was so wanting to have a vaginal birth, like, because I wanted to push and do all the things, and then I was in labor for thirty four hours and spiked a fever, and then they had to do an emergency c section. I was just, like, felt like a piece of my womanhood had been taken away from me. And then with Hattie, I tried to get my doctor. I was like, shit. I wanna do a vaginal birth. She's like, let me just tell you something. Like, I already have a really, like, clean path in there. You got a scar. I'm just gonna cut it right back open, pull that baby out. They are not giving out medals for the hardest birth ever.
Speaker 0
wouldn't recommend this. And I was like, you
Speaker 1
know what? You would have taken the drugs. Right? What drugs? Like epidural.
Speaker 0
Oh, I did all the drugs.
Speaker 0
Oh, I did all the drugs. So I was ready for it. Yeah. But then I had to have it ready.
Speaker 1
Yes. Yeah. So I just To all natural people that I'm like, oh, no.
Speaker 0
No. Oh, are you kidding? You think I'm gonna do I did natural.
Speaker 1
But you're talking about womanhood and shit.
Speaker 0
No. But I thought because there was something about that Yeah.
Speaker 0
but then after Henry, and then she was like, I've got a clear path in there. I'm just gonna slice that thing back open, sew it back up. I'll tuck it real tight. And I was like, okay. And she's told me she those were her exact words. They are not giving out trophies or medals or whatever for the hardest birth. Like, there's no reason for you you should not have a vaginal birth after you've already had a c section. Right. I do not recommend it. As your
Speaker 0
If you want me to do this, I will I will oblige, but I'm telling you as your doctor, I do not recommend this.
Speaker 0
And I was like, well, now, you know, fourteen, fifteen years later, I'm like
Speaker 1
Oh, are you? But you there's no way you can compare.
Speaker 0
I have no How do you know?
Speaker 1
Okay. I'm just gonna stop there. That's weird.
Speaker 0
I think that that is weird. I haven't I haven't asked to see anyone's labia. But so for those of you suffering from olympic labia, you're not alone.
Speaker 1
Well, and it's new to flesh. When you drop a bunch of weight, everything is gonna be floppy. Everything's gonna be a little bit part of our body be osympic osympic? Ozempic fill in the blank. Yeah. Everything's gonna get floppy.
Speaker 0
I know. Well, every you know what? Eventually, everything's gonna get floppy anyway.
Speaker 1
Right. Might as well get skinny and floppy.
Speaker 0
Okay. So let's get to our guest. Yes. As if this program couldn't get any weirder. We go from Ozempic labia to the worm queen. And the worm queen is in our news desk brought to us by our friends at Tailgate USA, which is a Texas based company that offers turnkey tailgate parties, trailers, full event services, including delivery setup, catering, bartending, satellite TVs, and, yes, ladies, those nice bathrooms, the RV style bathrooms, meaning no porta potties. And now without further ado, Julie, who is it?
Speaker 1
It's the worm queen.
Speaker 0
And we are excited to welcome to the mom game a very popular lady because of what she has been doing on the health front, what she has done, what she has uncovered, and she's known affectionately, I guess I could say, Kim, as the worm queen. Is is that affectionately? Very. I was crowned. Okay. I'm not ready.
Speaker 2
I didn't wanna be
Speaker 0
the worm lady. Okay. The worm queen.
Speaker 2
Talk about this nastiness and this grossness and this worms. You gotta have a crown while doing it.
Speaker 0
Yes. Okay. So Kim Rogers, you are the worm queen. Tell us about your journey to becoming the worm queen, how you, you know, developed this program that you did, and what you're trying to do with this platform that you now have.
Speaker 2
Well, I went viral on TikTok in twenty twenty one, and I just saw this need. I come from Western medicine. I hold two health care degrees. I ran twenty five medical colleges. I authored books, and this is just something that was a huge miss in my classically trained academia life, but also in my own personal health journey. I actually have parasites, mold, and chronic Lyme, and all of those things were missed for me. I had a hysterectomy when I was twenty nine years old, and there's a possibility I didn't really need it because of all these environmental toxins that were just kind of beating me up and eating my body. So I've kind of vowed after going viral in twenty twenty one that I would help others be advocating for themselves to learn about what environmental toxins are and also a cleanse. So I went viral over a parasite cleanse that wasn't mine. And about three months later, I started my own business, and that that's what I've been doing every day since twenty twenty one.
Speaker 0
Yeah. So what would I gotta know. What was I haven't seen it. What was in that video in twenty twenty one? How am I I've been living under a rock apparently.
Speaker 2
It was mostly on TikTok, and then I kinda pivoted myself two years ago over to Instagram. But I just basically said a million viewers in two hours watched it, and ten million total watched the whole thing. And the reason why parasite cleansing is such a big trend is because I'm really loud. And I feel like this is a miss in the wellness community and western medicine cultures. Like, it's just something that none of us have ever really thought about or talked about, but we all have parasites, at least ninety five percent of us, according to the CDC, sixty million of us, but that's those that have been tested on an accurate test. So in the big picture of things, we've never cleansed. We've never dewormed our bodies, but we have pets and we eat salmon and sushi and raw produce. And we go to other countries and come home with belly aches, but never really think, oh, like, a worm might have actually, like, created an environment inside of me, and that could be what's wrong with me. Maybe I need to do some wormwood and Oregon grape root and black walnut hole and kinda flush it out and see if that's what my chronic illness issues are before having a life altering event. So my video was I've been in western medicine for over eighteen years, and I've never dewormed myself until now. And I saw carcasses. They came out of my skin. They came out my urine. And then I just kind of talked a little bit more about then I what what I used and basically what it was like, and I had itchy butt. That was it ever since I've done this every day since. Every day. I've taken two days off since twenty twenty one. Sunday, yesterday, was one of those days. Okay.
Speaker 1
Yeah. So I'm on a mission. You are on a mission. It's amazing. So tell us, I guess, how do people get worms, and how come so many of us don't know about it if we have them?
Speaker 2
I mean, if you wanna think about how Western medicine indoctrinated us, I mean, that's definitely one way. We also think that our body should just break them down and remove them, but that's just not really the case. You have to actually bring in antiparasitics if you are a child or if you're chronically ill specifically because you're just kind of sedentary, and we're the perfect host. And by definition, a parasite is anything that feeds off a host, which is really gross. And in Latin terms, it's an unwanted dinner guest, so that's even grosser. But if you think about our lifestyle and kind of how we've all been indoctrinated to think, oh, you just can take this pill and everything's fine, or, you know, maybe it's this. And, really, it's that we should be cleansing three to four times a year. We're out there eating fish. Fish is a huge reason why you have parasites. Your pets, we deworm our animals. We should be deworming ourselves. They lick us. They're out there eating poop, licking their butts, and then they get in and they lick you and they lay in your bed and they're microscopic and you just don't know if you caught one. And then months later, you don't feel well. You go to the doctor, and the doctor's like, oh, you're distressed, or your skin issue is for whatever other reason. Or you know? I could never get a clear answer either. And then as soon as I dewormed and I saw them in the toilet, within three days, I was like, oh, well, I wonder if this is really what all my problems are. And from that moment forward, I can show you guys what I used to look like. I think you've seen a picture of it before, but your audience could look at it. And I just I was a roller derby girl. Oops. This way. That's what I used to look like. I was very ill. That was only five years ago.
Speaker 2
I worked eighty hours a week. I went to school. I derbied. I snowboarded. Like, I was a very athletic person, and it just took a few months of my health declining to just put me in to chronic illness. So it's really important that we we do this. You know? It's just one of those things I think is just being missed out there in the world. And our water. Our water is contaminated.
Speaker 0
Okay. So my question is, how did you come because I'm gonna get I wanna get to my purse because I'm two weeks in right now. But but I like, how did you come up with this? Is this just your your medical background where you came up with this kind of formula to create this cleanse?
Speaker 2
Yeah. So I loved I loved pharmacology. That was my jam. I loved teaching it. I loved learning about it. And herbs are the same. They're just a plant that has symptom relief with them. And when I was deworming on TikTok, and when I say, like, I was deworming, I did a video multiple times a day. I showed everything about my cleanses, and then I got people's feedback. So I was reading comments. I was researching other countries. I was looking at, like, the Amish, the way they deworm themselves. What do they use? How do they use it? And so I just started accumulating all of this information, and this is this is my jam. I love to research. And so I started creating a kit, and I was talking about other people's products. You gotta do some heavy metals because they hold on to heavy metals. It weights them down. So even if you go in and you eat a lot of cilantro, you're gonna release those heavy metals, but then what are you gonna do to get rid of the parasites that they released and the eggs they're dropping on the way out? So that's where you bring in something like Parafy. And then you have Candida. Candida is a parasite. We all have yeast. It overgrows specifically because you're eating crappy to feed them. How do you go in and actually suppress your appetite while removing the parasites and any bad bacteria and viruses that they're dropping? Because they can hold six to eight times their weight in spores, heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, and eggs, and that's in a physical worm. So you're you're killing that off. Well, you gotta bring herbs in to relieve some of that to your body as well so it doesn't absorb back into your body. So you bring in herbs like usnea. Usnea is mother nature's doxycycline. It pushes bacteria out of your body. So when you're killing the parasite, it's dropping all of the crap that's in their bodies, and then you bring in that herb to go ahead and push that out as well. So it's it's a whole system. So you can't just go in and take something like PARAGARD. PARAGARD is specifically just to relieve parasites. You gotta bind. If you're not binding, that's going back into your body as well, which is what happened to me. So I did PARAGARD. PARAGARD was really rough on my husband and me. Then I brought in Oregon grape root because I have small intestinal parasites. My skin was a mess. Oregon grape root helps with that. That's what's in Sustain. And then I started doing a heavy metal detox, and I realized you should do them all at the same time. You already feel like trash. You might as well just keep feeling like trash and getting rid of all of the things to really give yourself a break. And I didn't know what a binder was. I come from Western medicine. When we would give people charcoal in the ER, it was definitely not in a microdose. It was if they were overdosing or had alcohol poisoning. So the same concept is there. You have to come in and bring in a binder to bind everything that's dropping. So it's a whole system that you have to do per your body.
Speaker 1
Wow. It definitely sounds like you've thought of everything in working through this. But what I guess, how how has it been received? You said, obviously, millions of views on that first post. I'm sure that opened a lot of people's eyes, and then you kinda went on this path to come up with your own cleanse. So have you felt that kind of reaction, from people taking the cleanse, and how many people are, I guess, having their life changed that has to feel cool.
Speaker 2
It is. It's super cool. I actually looked last night at, like, our sales. So we have a ten thousand square foot manufacturing facility. Rogershood makes our products. I run Rogers' Hood, so we make our own products. We have thirty employees that help us do everything, including my social media, but it's really important that we have organic, ethically sourced herbs that we soak ourselves. So with that said, we've sold over two hundred thousand just Purify kits since, four years ago. And, like, the first couple of days we did this, we sold five hundred kits the first hour. We sold ourselves out. We actually doubled our sales. In total, we've sold over four hundred thousand products because we don't just sell parasite cleansing. I also had mold poisoning. So we sell mold kits to help with mold cleansing. People are exposed and need a little boost in their mitochondria to push the mold out. We also sell a lymphatic kit that doubles as a Lyme kit because I also have Lyme. So we do a lot of environmental toxin cleansing kits, and it's a hundred dollars. You don't need a doctor to come in and tell you you can or can't take this because I'm trying to show my community how to be sovereign and to also be your own patient advocate and start cleaning your soil. And that's really the way to do it. You gotta start somewhere or they're gonna absorb. They can, you know, they can absorb ninety percent of our nutrients. So you'll be sitting here taking all of these supplements to help you, but is it really absorbing back into your body, or is it just being absorbed into something that's it's just sitting there, if that makes sense. But it has been well received. We do have quite a bit of celebrities that do our kits, but it's kinda such a taboo subject that people don't really want to admit that, oh, by the way, I do three to four parasite cleanses every single year. You know? They're just kind of doing them behind the scenes. We are one of the cleanest. We are third party tested. We don't put any additives inside like other companies have recently put in, like, citric acid as a as an additive, which is derived from mold. And so we're really keeping it as organic in the way that our ancestors used to cleanse their bodies.
Speaker 0
Wow. Okay. So I'm I'm two weeks in, and I'm loving it. I'm I've kind of gone on this whole health hormone journey, and I'm feel I feel, you know, amazing, and I think this is part of it. I'm curious, though. I haven't where should I be looking for these worms? I haven't seen any. Am I just super parasite free or I mean, I'm not doing, you know, intense inspection, and I would prefer not to. But what what what am I looking for here?
Speaker 2
Okay. So first off, there's three types of cleansers. There's a flusher, there's a looker and there's a digger.
Speaker 0
I'm not a digger. I will tell you that right now. If you
Speaker 1
were a digger, I would end our whole podcast.
Speaker 0
I'm not a digger. I'm a digger, but I'm not a digger.
Speaker 2
I love diggers because they they, like, send pictures.
Speaker 0
And it's Oh my god. These trends
Speaker 2
of pictures. We have a six hundred page parasite identification ebook. It's free in my profile that you can download and see all the worms that have come out of people with our kit.
Speaker 2
twenty five thousand on my phone.
Speaker 1
Oh my gosh. I wanna go look kind of.
Speaker 2
Oh, it's it's gnarly and crazy and validating and, like, there's only one in there that's mine because I don't I'm not a digger. I used to just be a flusher, and now I'm a flusher and a looker. But I was forced to look when I dropped roundworm, flukes, and pinworms. But not everyone will see anything, so that's kind of a a, a preconceived notion that you would automatically see worms. You might not have physical worms, so the breakdown of the actual words of parasites are protozoa, which are microscopic, which I had cryptosporidium parvium, which is parvo, which kills puppies. I got it from my water. My husband had Defragiles, also got it from our water, and then Giardia. Everybody's heard the word Giardia. You're supposed to boil your water when you have a pipe break because it's in the water. Right? So those are microscopic. You're not gonna ever see those. So we were talking about digging and
Speaker 0
how I'm not a digger. I'm a looker.
Speaker 2
Yeah. Okay. So one funny thing about the digging thing, people say I should start a kit, but I just don't have a whole lot of time to do a digging kit. But, like, you need chopsticks, gloves, a mask.
Speaker 0
You need a microscope.
Speaker 2
Like, you need to have, like they got ones for your phones that you can kind of, like, look underneath and, like, it'll put it on your phone. Oh, yeah. I mean, it's a thing. This is a thing. It for me, when I did my first cleanse, they just were at the top of the bowl. I didn't have to even do anything. They I just saw the flukes. The roundworm eggs were chilling. There were actually sacks of eggs because roundworm eggs, sometimes you can see them. Sometimes they're microscopic. But, like, I people are like, you should do a digging kit. I just don't have the time right now. So if there's anyone there out there that wants to help me mass produce a digging kit, I am down. You know? What else in the world?
Speaker 1
You need to call. Have you seen those little, like, dinosaur eggs that are dirt and the kids can, like, hammer them until it gets to the little dinosaur in the bottom. That company could definitely help. And it's like a a parent, like, digging kit.
Speaker 2
I mean, it's the truth, man.
Speaker 0
It's the truth. Yeah. We're out here living
Speaker 2
our best life trying to dig through poop
Speaker 0
and stuff. Gosh. No.
Speaker 2
So not everyone's gonna see something. And I think that that's the biggest thing that, people don't realize. And I don't know if you guys ever saw my pineapple juice video, but it can break them into smithereens. Like, you won't ever see them. Physically, you may never see, you may not have physical worms. You may have a parasite. But if you're not digging with the digging kit.
Speaker 0
No kit needed over here. All good. Just gonna keep
Speaker 2
you in a looker. Just gonna
Speaker 1
keep you in a looker.
Speaker 2
Oh my goodness. The same. Like, some of my friends, man, they send me stuff, and I'm all I don't even wanna know how you got it. Like, some of the things that are sent to me, they're all on paper towels. And I I passed something a few months ago, and I barely took a picture. Like, that's how much I am just flush and go. But I there's no way I couldn't there's no way this thing was huge.
Speaker 2
Really grateful I did just for my own mindset. And then I sent it to my doctor, and I was like, what do you think this is? The Warren Queen's asking because I get like, oh my god. What's coming out of my body?
Speaker 1
Like, I still have
Speaker 0
the same reactions as everyone else. Yeah.
Speaker 2
I can help everyone else when it comes to my body. I'm like, oh
Speaker 0
my god. Yeah. Yeah. I have I have, like,
Speaker 1
so many questions. I wanna ask about doctors, but while we're on ourselves and our personal situations, I I am waiting. So, I wanted to ask you about waiting for a full moon. Does that help? Because a late the same lady who's helping Emily with her hormones and wellness stuff helps me, and she said, yes. Do a parasite cleanse. Her daughter had actually just done one or a parasite test and found out that that was causing all kinds of her stomach pain and just issues that she was having as a little, like, five year old girl. So she was like, yes. Do this, but wait for a full moon because they're very active. And I was like, what in the world? So I'm like googling, like, when is the full moon? Like, I have all my stuff ready to go, but what do
Speaker 0
you think about that? Okay. So
Speaker 2
you can wait until the full moon. I'm never patient enough. I just do it. But if you guys are ready, I'm gonna tell you there's two full moon. One's a folk French folklore, and one is, like, full moon. So you can determine when you should start it. So the French who eat a lot of snails, and snails have schistenomycin in them, which coats your bladder and your reproductive system. So a lot of women that have, like, female issues, that could really be an issue for them. So the French say to start your parasite cleanse three days prior to the full moon because they start to dislodge themselves, hopping on the serotonin river, getting, you know, waterfront property as they create new communities. So your serotonin is higher and your melatonin is lower, and that's why they say to do it over a full moon because more of them come out to eat your serotonin to make you kind of cray cray, and then your melatonin goes down, so you're not really thinking level headed at all. And that's why they tell you to do it over the full moon. But the French say to start it three days prior to the full moon because that's when they start to dislodge, and you'll get more of them. That's the theory behind the full moon specifically because you're trying to get as many as possible. Man, I can't ever wait. I just if I don't feel well, I'm just taking it. I'm just taking
Speaker 0
Okay. So my question so I'm two weeks in. It's a thirty day cleanse. Right? So I've got two more weeks to go. How often would I do
Speaker 2
this? Three to four times a year minimum. Now I give you around forty to forty five days worth of product.
Speaker 2
You can do a couple of things. One, this is for ages three and up. I don't wanna forget that. This is for ages three and up. We're one of the only kits out there that ages three and up, and we have, nut free options. I don't wanna forget that. It's in my mind right now. Okay. So back to the I give you around forty to forty five days. So if you are feeling good at the end of your thirty days, then I recommend over the full moon doing a five days just small cleanse for the two months. I give you enough to do that, and then you hop back on every ninety days.
Speaker 2
If you are done and you're like, I'd like to keep going, you wait seven days between each cleanse and you can start again. Got it. You can also keep going and finish the bottles. Okay. Because I'm not a doctor and I'm not giving medical advice, I give you so many options for you to choose yourself. Some people do the thirty days, they stop, they do two, five days over the full moon, and then they get back on a thirty day again. Some people just keep going and give themselves seven day breaks here and there that allows the eggs to hatch, and then you come back in and clean out those eggs. So creepy to think about.
Speaker 2
in our body. Yeah.
Speaker 1
It's it's it's totally creepy, and it it it sounds like most everybody should be doing this. How much of our I mean, I know this is a hard to answer question for everybody, but these things that we feel when we're feeling off, when we're feeling crampy, when we say our stomach's off, if we say that we're just in a, like, feeling moody or we're aching, how, like, how much of the world do you think how how much could this help gin pop if everyone were to do it? Like, I guess the question is, like, how how big of an impact do these worms have on our day to day life?
Speaker 2
Huge. Huge impact. We're not cleansing, so you can't tap in and say that feeling is me. I said that. Like, honestly, there are things that I've said and done that I'm like, that's just not me to the core. And since cleansing, I realized it really was never me to the core. And parasites can hijack and control your mind. Mold brainwashes and parasites control. There's a parasite called Toxoplasmosis gondii. It's the cat parasite parasite that everybody says don't scoop cat poop while you're pregnant. Well, anyone can get it. It just happens to be a parasite that's been proven to cross into the womb of your child and affect your child. So Patricia Arquette has toxo, her daughter has toxo and has some issues because of toxo. So that's why they say don't scoop the poop. But the thing is is that Toxoplasmosis gondii can control your mind. So the mouse has toxoplasmosis in their brain. They go cuddle up to a cat that we all know cats don't like mice, and mice are afraid of cats. But because the toxo says go to the cat, it's sexually attracted to the cat's urine, so it's heading over there for that reason. The next round of Toxoplasmosis gondii is in the cat's gut. It's an enzyme. So it has brainwashed the mouse to go and get eaten by the cat. It's really that scary, but, also, it tells you to eat sugar and salt. So it really can go in because they hijack our nervous system. And if you think about that in the big picture, candida is a parasite. Candida causes you to eat more sugar. We all have yeast in our body. Candida creates is created from the yeast of overgrowth, and it tells you to eat more sugar so that it can keep surviving and thriving.
Speaker 0
Yeah. That's crazy nuts.
Speaker 1
They're out thinking us.
Speaker 2
Yeah. They're smarter than us. They always have been.
Speaker 0
Yeah. And you you just think that, like, oh, well, you know, surely I would and I I mean, when I floated this out to my girlfriends, they're like, oh, yeah. Apparently, we all have And I'm like, you guys are just okay with this? Like, you're y'all just knew we all had parasites, and we're we're just cool. We're just floating around with some parasites. Like, I want this shit out of
Speaker 2
me as soon as possible. Yeah. Yeah. It they can control you. It's a frequency. So our bodies are constantly trying to get into homeostasis. And because these guys lower our frequencies, our bodies struggle to get back to the homeostasis frequency. So we're doing all of these things to get ourselves to a homeostasis frequencies, but these guys are lowering our frequency. So we're just already in a negative by the time we wake up in the morning. We're already in a fight or flight. Right? Because they're we're trying to fight to get ourselves normal. And so when you have something in your body that's alive, then you're constantly trying to fight for that. And that's the issue. We're really in we're really in a weird spot now in our on our life because we've lived like this for so long. We think this is normal. So, Emily, since you're two weeks in, aren't you just feeling to the next level? Like, oh my gosh. I can't believe I can feel this way.
Speaker 0
No. I do feel I mean, Julie and Jasmine asked me this. We were texting this morning, and they're like, how do you feel? I was like, I feel great. And, you know, I feel like I'm doing a lot of things. I don't want to say it's just this. But, you know, I'm drinking less. I'm sleeping more. I mean, I've been doing this, but like, my energy is great. You know, I just feel like I'm in a and I'm, you know, I'm forty eight years old. I'm not getting any younger. And so I've been trying to figure out this whole, you know, figure myself out as I age. And, you know, I feel really good. My energy is up. Like, used to this time of day, three o'clock in the afternoon, I'm like, if I could just sleep for, like, thirty minutes, if I could just be still for thirty minutes and not and now I'm not that way. And so I like I said, I don't wanna give you all the credit or this cleanse all the credit, but I think it's part of this whole kind of picture that I've been able to put into a frame of, you know, doing the things that are that my body needs based on, you know, this, based on the hormone doctor that I've been talking to, and she's helped me with, you know, my hormones, getting those regulated. I mean, all that combination of things that as we get older, you you kinda have to pay attention to those things, you know, and the things that you never would have thought of when you were twenty five or thirty. Now that I'm forty eight, it's like, I gotta look at all the shit if I'm gonna if I'm gonna stay on this level.
Speaker 2
Yep. And if you're not absorbing everything that is being given to you A hundred percent. Absorb ninety percent of the nutrients. So, really, our bodies have been living off of ten percent of everything. That's medications, supplements. Anything you're doing, they can absorb that into their bodies. So it it it might not be just the cleanse, but you are absorbing everything you're doing outside of that cleanse now because of the fact that your body is actually taking it in. I mean, how can we live off ten percent nutrients?
Speaker 2
It's no wonder we're all chronically ill. It's no wonder none of us are actually feeling any better. We haven't cleaned our soil to allow our soil to be flourishing. It
Speaker 0
makes a ton of sense. It really does. And to be I mean, I'm gonna be brutally honest with you. Like, when I first saw you and Julie Jasmine told us about it, I was like, okay. Really? Like, what are we talking about here? This lady, I don't know if I really buy into this. But, I mean, it it the way you talk about it and the the research that you've done, it makes a ton of sense. And I can't wait for Julie to try this. I cannot wait, because she's in a little bit of a transition period with her health trying to get her, you know, her body regulated in in order. So
Speaker 1
A feeling that warms. Yep. Yeah. Julie,
Speaker 2
we all do, friend. We're all here for you. You're not alone. Really is
Speaker 0
one. Self help group. I tell you what, though.
Speaker 2
Have millions of people joining you. So I'm gonna so many people.
Speaker 0
I'm gonna start looking a little harder, and I might if I find anything, I'm gonna send you a picture.
Speaker 1
Borderline digger over here.
Speaker 2
Murder. There will
Speaker 0
be no digging. There will be
Speaker 2
no digging. I everybody says that to me. I'm like, listen. I haven't dug yet.
Speaker 2
not dug yet. And I'm the worm queen, and I still haven't dug. But I have no judgment because that really is I didn't need that validation. And that and, really, if you look at this in a big picture, it's so validating. When I saw them sitting on in the toilet, just floating at the toilet toilet. So here's kinda what made me do my cleanse. I came across the gal's TikTok that said that she almost unalived herself over worms. And in twenty nineteen, when my husband and I gathered our lives together, sold everything, quit our careers, and went out to our recreational property to build a log home and to be there if I die because that's really where I was headed. I was very ill. I was declining rapidly. We got our affairs in order. We got out there. I didn't wanna leave my husband with a mortgage and debt. I really wanted to leave him in a good space so he could grieve and just go work some random job. So we gathered our whole lives. A year and a half, I really worked diligently on my health. I mean, I'm talking like we chain got me off of twenty two years of benzodiazepine. We did everything we could to get me in a better space. I wasn't pooping. It'd been thirty days. I was in my thirteenth surgery, and I thought, okay. Well, I've taken mushrooms, you know, since I was, like, thirteen. Sometimes they make you go to the bathroom, and they help like your mind. So I'm just gonna go ahead and grow some mushrooms. Let's see if that's something that can help me. And if anything, I go poop and my mind helps. Right? Because I had terrible PTSD. So a year and a half, we're doing this. I scroll on TikTok. I come across a chick that says I almost unalive myself, and I thought, you know, five years ago, I thought I had worms. My doctors gas let me and said there's no way you have worms, Kim. You're in a first world country. And I was like, yeah. But I've traveled to Mexico. Like, I drink tap water here and there. I don't anymore. But, like, you know, I mean, it's possible. I eat the fish. I led them in my mind thinking, oh, they're right. They're right. So when I came across her video, I ordered her whatever she was selling was Paragard. I ordered it and immediately took it. I got it, like, two days later. And within three days, this pain that I had on my right side, that was an indication I needed surgery again, which I can't have any more surgeries. I've had thirteen. So I'm kind of on my own. My doctors all told me you're on your own. I took it, and I saw the flukes, the roundworm, and the pinworms just literally floating at the top. It was just a full unload of of and so I didn't ever have to dig, but the pain that I had on my right side was gone. And I've never had that pain again. And now I know it was literally just sacks of eggs, just sitting there growing, pushing, like, going into my body because they can live in our our our tissue and our muscle. I mean, we're eating animals that have them. We're eating their muscle, their tissue. So the thought process behind that this couldn't be something for us in a first world country is crazy to me. You know? And then I started digging into other countries the way that they cleanse. Like, Jamaica does a tea once a month called the bush. And Mexico, they can just go to the pharmacy and get anti parasitics, and they take it with HCQ, which is their binder with charcoal, Korea. You know, they all do some sort of anti parasitic cleanse in their lifetimes. We just happen to lose this in the translation over a hundred and one years ago. And so you may never see anything, but how do you feel? And then how is everything that you're taking absorbing? The the moment that I started feeling better, I've just started putting nutrients into my body, and it was absorbing. And I started losing weight, and I started, you know, depuffing, and my hair stopped falling out. And it's because my body got out of fight or flight, and it was like, oh my gosh. Like, you just found your root cause, Kim, one of them, and now we wanna make it better. And so it started to absorb ten percent more, twenty percent more of the supplements that I was taking that were never even getting absorbed. It was like in and out. You know? Same with hormones. Yeah. Because I had a hysterectomy when I was twenty nine. So I'm on a I'm actually on a gel, so it absorbs immediately and doesn't have to fight with anything. But even that can weigh them
Speaker 1
down. Wow. Yeah. It sounds like definitely something that I I need to do. I'm gonna go start right now. It's been in here, but I'm like, hysterectomy check, like, endometriosis check. Like, I had all these things and also a cancer survivor. You know? So there's there's stuff a lot of health stuff, and it's you always you hearing you speak, it's kinda like, what if this is it? You know? And I and I appreciate your passion behind it because you can tell how life changing it's been for you, and it's probably a little frustrating that it's not more widespread, especially people around the world are doing it, but we're not doing it here. And I've I've learned a lot just as a mom and at this point in in life, the more educated you are on these types of things, there's a lot out there that doctors don't tell us about. And so I think it's really important to advocate for this kind of of stuff, and and it's awesome. It's awesome what you're doing, and it sounds silly like worms. But we're talking about worms, but if it's life changing for people, then, you know, anything we can do to spread the word even further, I think, is really important.
Speaker 0
Julie, I wanna when is the when is the full moon?
Speaker 2
I was just gonna
Speaker 0
look. Beginning to do
Speaker 2
Just had it. We just had a full moon. Now if you think about how you're doing this and you have children and you can change the way they view this, the ripple effect that you'll have on your child, because pinworms don't just go away, and most kids get pinworms because they're eating dirt, but gardeners can get pinworms because their hands are in dirt all day too. So if you think about pinworms in a child, how they they're like lights in the butt. They're never gonna go away. You have to go in and do a main cleanse to rid their bodies, and they live in the appendix. So your child can have appendix issues because that's where pinworms live. Then all of a sudden you disrupt their environment, and then they become a whole thing and your child starts to have behavioral issues, circles under their dark circles under their eyes. Like, you just get them in this routine, they're not gonna ever think anything bad. They're just gonna be like, yeah. I deworm. You don't? Like, that's really the whole process in my mind of, well, the adults do it. The children do it. Now this is just gonna be a thing that they do every single, you know, three months to make themselves feel better.
Speaker 1
cool. The pediatricians did it.
Speaker 2
Right? I'm working on it. Yeah.
Speaker 0
I'm working on it.
Speaker 2
I I actually just so you guys know what I'm doing behind the scenes is I have a lobbyist, and I'm working on doing some medical reform. Because how easy would it be if we had accurate, affordable, available testing to go, this is my root cause.
Speaker 2
Mold was my root cause, and Lyme was a root cause. Like, this isn't just the only root cause, but it's the easiest root cause to actually figure out and get rid of. Yeah. It really is a simplified way of finding out what could be your digestive issues, your skin issues, if you have floaters. Like, there's so many things that when you go in and you do thirty days and you're like, I feel better. Like, I oh, well, because you might have had a parasite and just didn't even know it. Right. You know? And and, like, two things. One, I get so excited to talk about this because I nerd out about it because it's really such a thing that's affecting us in so many ways. You said you had cancer. If you think about the way that the cancer is formed with a hard shell around it, a tumor, these things do that. Biofilm is what they're encased in, and it's a mucus, and it's hard, and it's an enter only. Nothing can exit out unless you break that biofilm exposing them. And so a lot of other parasite cleanses don't break that biofilm, and I learned that on my journey. And so you're just making them angry. But if you think about a hard case tumor, a lot of things could be that. Right? A lot of things could be this. And I've talked about it with I've talked about it with doctor Axe. He actually had said one of his friends had brain parasites that they said he had brain cancer. He did a cleanse, and it's gone now.
Speaker 2
I'm not saying that that that's the answer to everything, but there is suspicion when it comes to how they can encase themselves. So that's really important for people before they go and do life altering medical procedures that they give themselves a fighting chance and see, is this really what my problem is?
Speaker 2
You know, I've spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on my health prior. I had surgeries every two years. If I could have just done a simple cleanse and been like, yep. That's it. Or nope. That's not. The validation for me would have been huge, and I come from this world. I was valedictorian in both of my health care degrees. So if someone who loves this and is passionate about the body didn't know, unfortunately, our doctors are not allowed to go out of the box malpractice.
Speaker 2
Right? So, really, we've been handcuffed to having the same beliefs that we read in a book. And if that book's been changed, how can we change that? I worked as a licensed medical specialist. I know what it looks like to stay in a box. And to be able to go outside of that box is really tough. You have to be okay with anything that comes at you if you go outside of that box.
Speaker 2
So in terms of them, it's not something that, like, we were ever taught. And I know because I was in academics. Even lab technicians, we were not taught how to do this as a lab technician. I didn't teach it. You got three minutes. Your lab slip says this is not in lieu of a parasitic infection. It's stamped negative. They got three minutes still to get your stool and move on. That's the reality of where we're at in Western medicine.
Speaker 1
Yep. Well, I've been hearing a lot about that. With insurance and everything else, we had to find a different doctor who left her practice because she didn't have time to spend with patients because it was in and out and in and out and in and out. You don't get to know your patients. And then my son has been doing neurofeedback, and it has been really great for him. And it's just another thing that, you know, they they don't they wanna just kinda give you the drugs and move on, and there's other options. So I think this is kind of right in line with that. Just just advocating for yourself, for your kids, learning about all the options out there and going outside of the box and not just listening to what the doctors tell you, I think is really, really important for parents and to take care of ourselves and our children. And I just wanted to, lastly, clear up. Is this the the cleanse your main cleanse that you sent us safe for kids?
Speaker 2
Mhmm. They just turn up. You can add it to, warm water and have them take it in water. Warm water will dissipate that alcohol taste. We make alcohol tinctures. And or you can add it to juice or water, just regular water. And then if they have a hard time taking pills, because you should bind as long as everybody's pooping, you can add that to apple sauce because it's Ceylon cinnamon and coconut activated charcoal. So it's gonna taste yummy, And then it's gonna help bind them, and that will allow the the body to not reabsorb anything that's being dropped. It, binders are negatively charged herbs and positively charged toxins, so it acts as a magnet.
Speaker 1
Yeah. So would I I love it.
Speaker 0
Yeah. This was fascinating. I'm super excited. I'm gonna
Speaker 1
I'm gonna I'm gonna be a a deep looker.
Speaker 0
Not a not a digger, but I'm gonna be a deep looker from here on out in my last two my final two weeks. And then, I'll keep you posted. I'm I'm anxious to see how this, continues, how it finishes out for me. But we've enjoyed your our time with you. It's super fascinating what you've done. Best of luck to you and all that you do, and I'll send you some pics if I find any worms.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Thank you. Thank you so much for your time and expertise on this topic, which is obviously a very important one, and we'll continue to spread the word as much as we can.
Speaker 0

And welcome inside the Coppola Studios for episode two eighty three of The Mom Game. I am Emily Jones. She is Julie Dobbs. We are together, and we are popping the copal at today.
Speaker 1
Popping bottles today. Why are
Speaker 0
why are we popping Jules? Oh gosh. I put on moisturizer right before this. Uh-oh.
Speaker 1
It's not good. Because Okay. Our kids are
Speaker 0
back in school. Yay. Yay.
Speaker 1
We did it. We made it through the summer. Oh my gosh. I feel like I can breathe again. I feel like I'm missing a limb, though. Like
Speaker 0
Oh, attached to your ass? Yes. Okay. Yes.
Speaker 1
I feel you. But it is it is nice to just have a little bit of time to focus on yourself and and work. And
Speaker 0
And to know that these children are taken care of. Yeah. Like, they're in good hands. They're learning. They're socializing. Yes. Yeah. It's a great place to be.
Speaker 1
Isn't school great?
Speaker 0
Isn't school wonderful? God bless the teachers, every one of you. You're lovely. Yeah. God. Teachers must really love kids.
Speaker 1
I know. I was saying this yesterday to
Speaker 0
It's unbelievable. To my son. Cheers. Cheers.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Because his teacher is, like, you know, veteran, been there, like, twelve years at the school, has four kids of her own Yeah. And is just like a superhuman.
Speaker 0
Yeah. They all are. Yeah. Yeah. Shout out, teachers. While you guys are taking care of our kids and molding them into the people they're going to be, we're just gonna cheers you Right. On this first day of school.
Speaker 1
Yeah. It takes a special special human Yeah.
Speaker 0
Thank god. Grateful. Thank god for teachers. Yeah. So we're back in school. So we've got second and fourth for Anna and Ryder. Mhmm. Sixth and eighth for Hattie and Henry. It's legit. I know. And then drop off this morning, Henry, bright and early, six thirty for football, so he's back at it. Hattie was she goes to school at nine. So when football's over for Henry, he'll go to school at
Speaker 1
nine. Middle school, are they in the same school?
Speaker 0
No. So at in Fort Worth, McLean, six is its own school, and then seventh and eighth are together. So they won't be in school? Yes. They will not be in school together again until he's a junior and she's a freshman in high school. Wow. So but they're super close together, the campuses are. So pickups at the same time. Oh, that's Start times at the same time. So, yeah, both of them in school till four thirty. Wow. So Henry's in school from six thirty during football. Six thirty in the morning till four thirty in the afternoon. He's gonna be zonked.
Speaker 1
Yes. Like, by the end of the day, is he is he listening to the teacher?
Speaker 0
Well, are any of them?
Speaker 1
Can you could you do that?
Speaker 0
No. I could not. I mean
Speaker 1
Follow a kid's school schedule. No.
Speaker 0
No. No. No. And it's funny. So he'll so Henry's favorite thing to do is not his favorite, but one of the things he does. He's on Instagram, which he doesn't post very much. Yeah. But he he likes to send me reels or little memes about the the either the, you know, ragging on his sister, like, about little sisters or, like, that I'm a great mom. Like, it's really sweet. And then he'll throw in one every once in a while that's like, keep in mind that your kids, when you if you think they're in a bad mood when they get home from school, think about all they've gone through. And I'm like, okay. Noted kid. I understand you're trying to tell me.
Speaker 1
The language via Instagram memes. Yeah. Like, he Oh, yeah. On it. Yeah. And it's probably a good way for him to express himself without having to really, like, go talk to me. Well, that's like what I don't know if you send Mike stuff. He's probably not on the gram. Is he he does some. But, like, you know, you'll get all these things that are, like, something about your husband and how if he really wants to get some action, he just has you do this. Chores. Yeah. You know? And so you, like, send it to him. You're like, nudge. Nudge. Why don't you get the mop out, honey? Right. Like, they and they know Yeah. These algorithms know what to say. Oh, yeah. So I love that he's kinda doing it now.
Speaker 0
Well, and in my friend group, like, in my group chats, like, I'm the I'm the meme sender. I'm the real sender. I'm the, you know, let me send you this that I saw, which annoys everyone pretty much in the group chat, but I still do it. Yeah. So, yeah, I it is. It's it is. It's an adjustment for them. I think this week is gonna be pretty rough on a lot of kids, mine included. But it's good. It's good for me to get back in a routine. And I was telling you before we started shooting, like, I I don't mind summer. My kids are really self sufficient. I just they just wanna be doing stuff all the time. So more than anything, it's like just getting them places, like, you know, more than anything. And so I enjoy summer, but I did, and I was excited last night. I sent you the text that I sent to our family about Yeah. This is the new schedule for school. This is phones go up at this time. They go in the laundry room. They don't stay in your rooms, and you can't get them back till you do all your chores in the morning. The chores that will take five minutes, so don't complain, like you know? So it was good to get up and do that. Yeah. The five AM wake up call was not great after extra inning on Monday night.
Speaker 1
And and missed a baseball series. Right?
Speaker 0
But yeah. I mean, whoo. I've worked, like,
Speaker 1
five games in a week. Hanging in there? Hanging in there?
Speaker 0
Yeah. It's good. But it's I looking back now, I'm like, how did I do sixty five? How did I do a hundred and fifteen when Hattie was a newborn? Like, how did I even do that? A hundred and fifteen.
Speaker 1
Another another level of adrenaline.
Speaker 0
Right. And now I'm like, it's I'm doing twenty, and I'm like, oh my god. I gotta put on makeup again. Yeah. I have to find another outfit and blow dry my hair. Right. This is a lot.
Speaker 1
Out, like, kid coordinating and all Oh, yeah. This is annoying. You're a little Henry
Speaker 0
was like he was like, who's picking me up from school? I'm like, not really sure. I'll let you know. And then I'm like, I'll text you. And I'm like, oh, shit. They can't have their phones in school now. Right. I mean, they can have them, but I don't know when That's right. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. They can't have him in class. Like, I don't know if they could check him in the hall, if they can check him at lunch. Yeah. He'll for sure have it after school as he's walking to where he gets picked up. So I'll You could send a pigeon? I could send a pigeon. Mhmm.
Speaker 1
Yeah. But I Do you ever message his teacher? No. That doesn't happen anymore.
Speaker 0
No. Not in middle school.
Speaker 0
I don't to be honest, and this sounds terrible, I don't know that I could name a single one of Henry's teachers.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Has it been that way since he started? Sixth grade. Since sixth grade. Yeah. I mean, eventually, you
Speaker 0
I mean, he taught He'll talk about some of them? He'll talk about some of them, but, like, I don't retain it. I I couldn't if one of them punched me in the face, I wouldn't know who they were.
Speaker 1
Really? Yeah. Even, like, from last year after spending a year with them?
Speaker 0
Well, I don't you don't go to the school. You're not up there. You don't there's no, like So
Speaker 1
I guess that's a good thing, meaning you haven't gotten a lot of notes home. No. Because you would remember them if you got oh, there was there was one. So do you remember her?
Speaker 0
I don't remember her name. She was not a fan. Well, maybe if you would remember your
Speaker 1
name, you brought her some treats.
Speaker 0
Well, I'm not gonna do I'm not gonna no. I'm not gonna bring her treats. I was like, sorry. My kid was an asshole. I will absolutely address it, and hopefully, it won't happen again. And I I think I may we made him, like, write her a letter, like, a apology.
Speaker 0
he's just being a jackass.
Speaker 1
So you don't do a first day school gift for the teachers?
Speaker 0
Is this really a question, Julie?
Speaker 1
I didn't either until this year.
Speaker 0
You did? Oh, yeah. Didn't know that this was a thing. Now you're kissing all the ass. Uh-huh. Are you turning into the PTA mom?
Speaker 1
No. I'm not doing PTA. I mean, I'm the Okay. Okay. Here's the question. PTA member that signs up to be a member at large and doesn't do anything.
Speaker 0
So here's a question. So I've I've always joked about this. Like, for PTA moms and this is not a knock against PTA moms. No. Thank god for PTA moms. Because if there was just slackers like me, nothing would get done. Nothing would get done. But thanks to these women and men, they get shit done. But if this is, like, the Super Bowl, like, this is it. Oh, yeah. Here we go. And, like, when we showed up so the way we drop off is everybody meets in this parking lot, all the kids, and then they walk over together. So you don't even drop them off at the school. It's, like, a block away. Like, all In a shopping centers, the center, like Whoever whoever can do it, whoever goes, it's a bunch of kids. And, so today, I was like, this is so I go, you know, post workout outfit, slap a hat on. But then there are I mean, it's just, you know, cute and gotta look, you know, and which is great. Like, it again, no knock against it. I wish I had that kind of drive to be like, I don't want I don't have anything to do today or no. That oh, that also sounds terrible. You know what I mean? Like Yeah. If I don't have to be on television, I'm not getting cute.
Speaker 1
No. I'm not either. Yeah. They're probably going to a party after.
Speaker 0
Or, like, we used to do that where I did that one year where it was, like, they call it something, bye bye's and boohoo.
Speaker 1
Yeah. We whatever. For, like, the kinders.
Speaker 0
Right. And, like, we go to Press Cafe, this place in Fort Worth outside, gorgeous. And then, like, we look up. It's we started at nine, and, like, everybody's had had plenty to drink at, like, twelve thirty. It's like, we hey. Got we gotta get it's like, everybody's gotta go get their children. So we probably need to take the little, you know, thirty here.
Speaker 1
We just come here. Yeah. It's weird. Yeah. Do we just come here?
Speaker 0
So, anyway yeah. So drop offs, great. School's back in session. Routines are back on. Mhmm. And I'm stoked. How about you?
Speaker 1
I feel really hashtag blessed, but I think my teachers blessed. I think my teachers got some wonderful my teachers. I think my kids got some wonderful teachers. Okay.
Speaker 0
And what did you take them for their teacher gift?
Speaker 1
So so I didn't I've never done this before on the first day. Like, I do, you know, teacher appreciation or their birthday
Speaker 0
Or end of year Sure.
Speaker 1
Even. But I've never done first day, and this is something that the old me might have, like, been made fun of. Uh-huh. I'm like, no. But the new me is like, if nothing else if there's one thing I'm gonna do, it's gonna be spoil those damn teachers. Absolutely. Freaking amazing. Agreed. But I didn't just ever think of it. But I saw someone had posted on, like, our Facebook group for the whole neighborhood about teacher gifts, blah blah. And I was like, oh, I need a teacher gift, and I actually had some time yesterday. So went by a couple stores and got went to this place called White Rock Soap Company that's really cute, and got some little candles that say journey. So it's beginning of the journey. Okay. And a face wash bar bar of soap for your some sort of face mask thing. Okay. And random aside, actually met the guy there. Jasmine would probably know him, but he was on the Eagle before the freak happened, Alfie. It's really totally random. But, like, they let them go so the freak could start. Oh. So they were all, like, I think, kinda mad at at not necessarily us Right. Double situation. He's like, are you Julie from the freak? Because, like, yes. He was like, I think that they fired us so they could hire you. And I was like, I'm sorry. And, it was just a funny conversation at the soap store in the neighborhood, and he was really sweet. And I was happy to meet him. We had a little, oh, yeah. That place is kinda Yeah. Fun to be doing other things with our life, like buying soap in the middle of a teachers. Weekday Yeah. For my kids' teachers. But I got them that little little had them gift wrapped and had them in their backpacks, and so we'll see if they remember to give them to them. But then, of course, I saw a lot of people posting pictures with, like, flowers that they were bringing. So I was like, okay. Glad I mean, part of you does feel like, I don't want my kid to
Speaker 0
be the one without a gift.
Speaker 1
Right. Even though it's stupid.
Speaker 0
Yeah. I don't think it's stupid. I think it's very kind.
Speaker 1
I mean, stupid for me to feel that way.
Speaker 1
It's not stupid to bring a gift. Yeah.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Stupid that that would, like, I don't want my kid to show up. You know? And that's how it all starts, the whole Yeah. Whole, like, the whole Keeping up. Keeping up. Yep. Yes. Well, I think
Speaker 0
it was thoughtful, and I think that your kids I think your kids will take note that that you did a thoughtful thing for their teacher, and I think that's a great night.
Speaker 1
I think it's great. Like, made them feel excited to, like, reach into their bag and have something to giver them. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. But, yeah, we're feeling really good about the school year, and, you know, Ryder has all his accommodations set because we spent a lot of time last year, like, figuring out everything for him. So, it'll be a hopefully really good year where, like, there's a protocol in place for him Sure. Just to kinda be able to manage the day, his anxiety especially, and that kinda thing. So I'm I'm super excited because he seems like he's in a good place with it all, and he knows that, like, there's people looking out for him. Yeah. And, hopefully, the school days won't be so hard. Yeah. And then Anna's just like, you know
Speaker 0
Well, and it's so around twenty. It's so important, like, that you're you you have a school that is willing to work with you, and you can advocate for your child, and they'll respond. We you know, same thing with, you know, Charlotte, our Yeah. Down syndrome friend. She's starting her second year in public school, at, where Hattie went to and both my kids went to, elementary school. And we walked in. We will walk we walked her into the Hattie was like, can we please walk Charlotte in this morning? And so we made a special trip up there to walk her in, and it was so cool to see every everyone was just like, Charlotte. Charlotte. Charlotte. Like, made her feel so good, and they know how to, you know, they know how to to manage her to where it's a comfortable and a safe environment for her. And she loves her little friends and, you know, they love her, and, it's it's really cool. I think it's such an important thing, like, for, you know, kids who are who I don't know. It what's what's the right word? I don't wanna say with disabilities, but kids who are Just like special needs. Yeah. I mean yeah. Kids who are special, you know, that that they have they can be with the with in an integrated into a, quote, unquote, normal setting to where you're not just with we're just lumping everybody into this is okay. You're you've got this, you've got this, you've got this, you don't have this, you don't have this, and I just think it's fantastic.
Speaker 1
Yeah. I do too. Shout out to Awesome. In that way.
Speaker 0
Shout out shout out to your school. Shout out to our old school.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah. You gotta make the kids feel comfortable. Like, that helps everyone.
Speaker 0
Yeah. I mean, listen. You're not trying to cater to them by any stretch No. Any child, but, you know, you need to push them, but also make sure that it's a it's a safe and comfortable environment for them. So yeah. And I got to wear my, Down syndrome is cool hat that I got from the, Down syndrome awareness day at the ballpark. Yeah. We've gotta have Ashland Berger on. What they're doing is incredible, with their their, yeah, with their foundation. And so they're super cool. They've got, Penelope who is their little down syndrome maybe, and she is
Speaker 1
so stinking weird. That new because of them?
Speaker 1
Cool. Yeah. That's great.
Speaker 0
Yeah. It was really awesome. So, yeah, yeah, that's the latest. We are, we're back in it. Back in Girl. Cool. Back in business. Okay. Let's talk a little, sports sports. Let's get a little sportsy. Yeah. Speaking of the rangers?
Speaker 1
Speaking of the rangers, there's still time to make summer memories out at the ballpark. If you haven't gotten to do this yet, then make sure that you give this a whirl. You can head to Cleburne. It's thirty minutes south of Fort Worth. Catch the Cleburne Railroaders before the season comes to a close. Mom game listeners get buy one, get one free tickets on any remaining home game with the code mom game at checkouts. Get your tickets at rail rotor baseball dot com.
Speaker 0
Yay. Okay. So little little Rangers talk. What is happening with my this is why I hate seeing this myself. Okay. So not a whole lot of sports going on right now other than baseball. Yeah. I mean, football, preseason.
Speaker 1
Come on. I did have a little tidbit once we get through Rangers just on, like, stars.
Speaker 0
Oh, okay. You know,
Speaker 1
the you see all the articles about the stars youth programs and stuff?
Speaker 1
Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
Speaker 0
Let's So we'll submit that. Yeah. Right. But, really, I
Speaker 1
mean, cowboys preseason and Rangers.
Speaker 0
I know. But cow I can't yeah. Just let me know. Football's coming, and I'm super excited about it. We're gonna talk about that in a second too because the odds of who's playing the, Super Bowl next year are out, which is exciting. But, yeah, Rangers are okay. They're not great. They're not terrible. We're just in How about playoffs? We're, I mean, we're Are
Speaker 1
you saying there's a chance?
Speaker 0
There's a chance. There's a chance. Chance. I would say there's a meeting. There's a meeting. Chance. They're still in it. Okay. They're still in it. These games are still meaningful. They just offensively, they just can't get it clicking. Pitching has still been really good. Evo had a non Evo start on Monday, and then they just came and pulled one out of their ass, which was amazing. So that was great. But, yeah, they just can't this is a nine game home stand, so by the time this show airs, it will be over. But after the first game against the Diamondbacks, we're three and four. So we've got two chances to make this a winning home stand, but then they go to Toronto. Toronto's got the best record in the American League. So, I mean, they're gonna get tested. So we'll know I mean, by this time next week, I think we'll have a really good idea if this thing's in it or not. But the bottom line is you've got around forty games. You're in the wild card chase. The problem is there's a number of teams that are in the wild card chase. Right now, you're two and a half, two, three, two and a half back, which doesn't seem like a lot. But when you're having to overcome, overtake so many teams, not just like you're just battling with one, you're having to keep track of other teams. It makes things, you know, a little more dicey. Right. But, but, yeah, they're they just gotta keep winning. They just have to keep winning series. And, it's just it's been the biggest, like, stop and start season too.
Speaker 1
Like, the jerky.
Speaker 0
Yeah. You just can't it's just they'll do like this, and then they'll do that. And then it's just it's it's like the mini mine train. Yeah. It's not like huge ups and downs, but it's it's like the mini mine train. So, anyway, still reason to watch. You know, they're still in it, and, they're a fun team to cover when the offense is going. I mean, last Monday night was really, really fun. Couple of home runs and, yeah, but it's just How Hard to figure out.
Speaker 1
Who's, like, been the best pitcher?
Speaker 0
Oh, Nathan Ivaldi. For sure. Okay. He's stupid.
Speaker 1
He's so good. I mean He's ridiculous. Following it up from And he last season.
Speaker 0
He was not good. He was not good against the Diamondbacks Yeah.
Speaker 1
Opener. He was not good. In the running perhaps for Sayan? So the problem with that is he should he should be. The problem with that is been about
Speaker 0
So, like, the way it works is in baseball, and I I honestly, like, not just learn this, but I knew there's, like, innings you have to have a certain number of innings to qualify. Yeah.
Speaker 1
Y'all talked about this on the broadcast. Right? Yes.
Speaker 0
Yeah. And I was like, well, this is dumb. He's got a, like, a one three ERA. What are we talking about? And so, basically, it's like you've gotta pitch as a starting pitcher one inning per game that your team has played. So if the team has played a hundred and twenty games, you need to be at a hundred and twenty innings pitched and
Speaker 1
ordered But not, like, specifically in each game. I'm like, who No. No. No. No. No.
Speaker 0
No. No. No. No. So, like, if you played a hundred and twenty games, then you need a hundred and twenty innings.
Speaker 0
And so every day, that number grows because your team keeps playing, but you're not pitching. So he's close to qualifying, but the thing is you don't have to and I don't even think the boys knew this when we talked about it on the broadcast. I was like, okay. So he doesn't qualify for, like, the ERA title. So, like, you know, somebody will be like, oh, he's the ERA leader this year in the American League. Well, Iva would not qualify for that right now. Most likely, he's gotta get he's gonna reach a hundred and sixty two by the time the season ends. Right now, he's not a qualifier. But from what I understand, you don't have to meet those innings requirements in order to win a Cy Young. Does that make sense? So you have to have it for certain titles, the ERA title, the Okay. Whatever. But you don't have to have it to be considered for the Cy Young. That's good.
Speaker 1
It definitely the best pitcher in baseball no matter Right.
Speaker 0
But it doesn't help that he doesn't have the innings.
Speaker 0
So we'll see. If he throws up a couple of, you know, eight inning shutouts, complete game shutouts, you know, couple of complete game one run games, whatever, I think he'll get in the mix. But it was funny because Jacob they were talking about Jacob deGrom so much tied to the Cy Young, and he's had a great season too, but he hasn't even been to Jacob's standards, honestly. So most he's pitched since two thousand nineteen. And so you wonder if he's starting to get a little bit fatigue. But people were talking about him for the Cy Young, and then, like but he's really hasn't even been the most consistent pitcher on your staff. Right. But the problem is that Evo set up the name. He well, the the name, yes. And the and his stuff is so electric.
Speaker 0
The way Jacob pitches is just so cool. Yeah. Like, it's just fun to watch, and it's just a different style. Like, Jacob will throw, you know, ninety eight with movement and, like, it just looks like he's just playing toss. Like, it's crazy how effortless it looks with him. With Evo, he's more of a bulldog. And and Jacob is mixing his pitches more now that he's had two Tommy John's, and he knows he can't just blow everything by everybody if he wants to keep pitching later on into his career. And Ivo is more like a bulldog out there, and he mixes stuff so well. And it's just he's fun to watch too. They're just two different styles of pitcher. So I think Jacob's style of pitching is just a little more catchy and sexy Right. In terms of, you know, catching people's eyes with with baseball. So, anyway, it'll be interesting to see, but the what killed Ivo is just missing that time when he was injured, and you just can't trying to catch up on those innings and have that consistency is Yeah. Is not easy over a hundred and sixty two game season. So, anyway, that's kinda the latest.
Speaker 1
It's at least a fun story to follow It is. For Rangers. It's Absolutely. Have those other sort of competitions for those types of awards titles outside of how's the team doing. Right. You know?
Speaker 0
Something to follow.
Speaker 1
Yeah. For sure. Yeah. For sure.
Speaker 0
Okay. Okay. You got anything else on?
Speaker 1
No. That's it. I wanted to talk about my update.
Speaker 0
Yes. You're very welcome. So I teased this a minute ago, the odds on next year's Super Bowl halftime. I wish kind of that you wouldn't have read this, so I was gonna make you guess.
Speaker 1
I haven't really.
Speaker 0
You haven't? Mm-mm. Okay. I I wouldn't have gotten any of these. K. Like, who you thought. Okay. So they've got so there's a financial exchange called Calshe Calshi whatever. Thanks. Okay. They've lit they put out a list of who they think is gonna be the halftime The people entertainer kinda thing. At Super Bowl. Yeah. So they they put out a list and put out odds. Okay. So they have one, two, three, four, five. Okay. So they have five that have, like, double digit percentages. Five artists. Can you name any of them? Five artists that have double digit percentages according to
Speaker 1
Of performing. Of performing. It's hard to
Speaker 0
even remember what happened to you.
Speaker 1
Who would be eliminated because they've already performed. You know? Like, I don't Who is the little guy?
Speaker 0
Who is the little guy? The little guy. He's small, rapper. I loved him. Like Like, last year oh, yeah. What's his butt? Yeah. What's his butt? Lamar. Kendrick. Kendrick Lamar. Yeah. Yeah. I liked him.
Speaker 1
Yeah. I thought he was
Speaker 0
He was little. Wait. Usher. Please. Yeah.
Speaker 1
What are we talking about? Usher. Okay. So those two are out. So those two are out. Yep. Did I see something about, like, Shakira and J. Lo?
Speaker 0
No. And thank god. Uh-huh. Yeah. No offense. Both beautiful, stunning women.
Speaker 1
Are they Okay. So Don't
Speaker 0
you think people will revolt? I think people are over,
Speaker 1
especially J. Lo. People are so over. Is Taylor on there? Because now she finally has a in a hoe boyfriend.
Speaker 0
She is in the others receiving votes category. Okay. So she's outside of the top five.
Speaker 1
It'd be really cool if she did that, and she will have a new album coming out, soon. So
Speaker 0
Yes. We'll talk more about that later.
Speaker 1
I see Sabrina Carpenter? Nope. The Backstreet Boys? Nope. Okay. What They're doing from they're doing
Speaker 1
Oh, the Jonas Brothers. Think chicken. Demi Lovato. Chicken Shack.
Speaker 0
He's got his name on, like, a chicken plate. He has his own chicken store.
Speaker 1
Shaq has a chicken place.
Speaker 0
Yeah. But it's not Shaq.
Speaker 1
Well, he does DJing. He that's true. Okay. Not a bad guess. Chicken oh.
Speaker 0
He has tattoos all over his face. Oh, Post Malone? Post Malone. Okay. Post Malone is number
Speaker 1
I would have just assumed he already has. He's, like, everywhere. Though.
Speaker 0
I would love Post Malone.
Speaker 0
So he's number two on the list.
Speaker 1
And then he could bring out Tay Tay.
Speaker 0
Okay. Here is, okay. This was an older guy.
Speaker 0
Older rapper, married to a very famous entertainer. Mhmm. She might have a following called Jay Z. Yep. Number one. Oh, really? Twenty eight percent chance. Oh. Post Malone, twenty five percent chance. Okay. This one's throwing it back a little bit. Kinda my age between my age and your age. Uh-huh. Right. She came in like a wrecking ball for a little while. Miley. Miley is number three on the list at twenty three percent. Okay.
Speaker 1
I can get behind that.
Speaker 0
These next two are complete polar opposites, and it's gonna be hard for you to get to get them, I think, but maybe you'll surprise me. Let me see a good hint for this guy. Very popular at Easter. Okay. Latin rapper? I think he's kinda Latin rapper. I dig him.
Speaker 1
Yeah? He's not good, but he's He's not good?
Speaker 0
No. He's not good. He's what's the opposite of good? Bad bunny?
Speaker 1
There you go. Oh, I see popular at Easter, bunny. Nice. Bad Bunny. Uh-huh.
Speaker 0
Okay. And then this one, Jesus, it's now performing. Super Bowl fifty nine.
Speaker 1
Oh my god. Can you imagine? Jesus. The crowd would go insane.
Speaker 0
There we go. Or would they? Or
Speaker 1
would they? They wouldn't. They better. If No. Showed up for a simple half pipe show, I don't have time. Truly? Yeah.
Speaker 0
I'm sorry, but we don't.
Speaker 1
No one showed himself the first time ever in modern history.
Speaker 0
Not learned anything about our society? Right. No. Jesus is way too controversial to play the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1
Don't think at a halftime show, he would just, like, people would just be in awe that he was there?
Speaker 0
No. Are you kidding? People would be like, why are you shoving Jesus on me? I'm just trying to watch football, stick to sports. What do you say? Keep your Jesus off my grid iron. Damn it.
Speaker 0
Well, no. The yeah. I don't know. But no. Well, I And that that makes me sad. I am so sorry, Jesus, that I don't think our society wants you to play Super Bowl. That's not how I feel. Believe he would tell him that. I'm I'm apologizing to Jesus in advance. I don't wanna set him up for this.
Speaker 1
Jesus don't listen to her. I think people will be very excited to see you. I think a lot of people would time of the Super Bowl.
Speaker 0
I think a lot of people would, but let me tell you something. The people would lose their minds. I can't believe we're having a discussion of what if Jesus played the Super Bowl halftime show. I think he'd kill it. Oh, he would slay, obviously.
Speaker 1
It'd be great. Oh my gosh. Those tickets would be, like, hotcakes.
Speaker 0
Okay. Last one. And this is from probably more so my era than maybe your era too. You're not that much younger than me. Even though you I didn't say anything. Mean, you like to remind me at every opportunity, how young you are. Just because it grinds your gears. Born in the eighties. I really think I'm young. I'm We all get it. Okay. So this one, like heavy metal. Oh, and I don't even I know I know a million of their songs, but I'm really not a heavy metal chick.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Me either. Tell me how
Speaker 0
many Okay. Well, it's like like I'm trying to give you a hint. Like, gold and silver, they're all
Speaker 1
You're not talking about, like
Speaker 0
Like, what are gold and silver? Tools. Like copper and
Speaker 1
Minerals. Iron. Something. Elements. Stones.
Speaker 0
Are you talking about pearl jam? No. But that's not a bad guess. Pearls?
Speaker 1
Are they alive? Are they alive? Yes. Collectively. Yeah.
Speaker 0
Okay. It's not pearl jam. But, copper And Copper, gold, tin. These are Aluminum. Yeah. What are all these things? They're all elements. They're all things in the Earth. They're hard. Hard rock. They're rocks. It's metallic.
Speaker 1
Oh, are they metals? Yeah.
Speaker 0
I never thought of metal. Isn't gold a metal? I don't think so.
Speaker 1
Oh, I think that was a terrible clue. Thank you. Well,
Speaker 0
forget I gave it to you. Forget I gave it to you. More like stones.
Speaker 1
Well, it's not the Rolling Stones. Okay. Well That'd be amazing.
Speaker 0
I'm gonna Google is gold a metal.
Speaker 1
I mean, that I have no one could ever know that. Okay. Let's move on. Okay. Do you want those the those are the Those
Speaker 0
are the top five. Metallica. Okay. Yeah. The others receiving votes were, like, Morgan Wallen, Dua Lipa, Sabrina Carpenter, which you did mention her, Taylor Swift, Drake, Billie Eilish, and the. Yeah. Okay. Who's your vote? I think I'm
Speaker 1
in for Bad Bunny. I mean, the people love them. Yeah.
Speaker 0
Or Post Malone. Yeah. Post Malone would be great. Or Jesus. Jesus is the number one halftime performer. Okay. Do you wanna talk about that star stuff?
Speaker 1
Well, it Yeah. Or do
Speaker 0
you wanna talk about that news? Yeah. Whatever. Let's talk about it in
Speaker 1
It's not like a ton.
Speaker 0
Just Okay. Yeah. Let's do a little feed stuff brought to us by our friends at Audrey Dollins Media.

Speaker 0
A few things that we saw pop up on the socials that Jasmine sent us, this one This one's legit. I almost died. Okay. An intern called off work because her energy felt a little off. So a Gen z intern's email to her boss at an AI startup is going viral because she didn't ask. She told him she she was gonna take a few days ago a few a few days ago a few days off, and her reason was, quote, my energy feels a little off. A last minute request or really not even a request. She just told her boss that that's what was happening, saying that she was overwhelmed with all the work and her energy felt off. So not getting that vibe. I don't know what first of all, if my kid ever told me, like Yeah. That his energy or her energy felt off and they weren't getting that vibe, I'd be like, well, let me introduce you to the vibe, honey. Like, this
Speaker 1
is not the way it's going to go. Buttercup.
Speaker 1
What are we doing? Real, though. Like, this is a real millennial what are you Gen z? Gen z. Not even
Speaker 0
We've been over this. I feel like I need a chart every bit.
Speaker 1
Feel like like, I'm a millennial.
Speaker 0
And I'm I'm an old millennial.
Speaker 1
I think I'm Gen x. So people younger so we're talking people in their thirties ish or Gen zers, I believe. But, like, this is real. It's like, I'm gonna be late because I'm getting iced coffee. I you know, just canceling a lot on on work obligations. But this is I sadly, I feel like this isn't that far fetched. My energy feels a little off.
Speaker 0
Well and don't you feel like like, we have a lot of no. We don't have a lot. Like but, yeah, I I do feel like it is definitely a generational thing
Speaker 0
That that this this and I don't know how some of it has to do with COVID. I don't know. It just I don't know what all is good feeling to it.
Speaker 1
From home. I think Yeah. Really made things a lot more relaxed in general. Yeah. I mean, because if you have to be in the office eight to five every day to collect your paycheck, like, that's just what it all anybody knew for so long. And then all of a sudden, there's all these other ways to work. And I think that's right when probably this Gen z group was getting into the workforce. Yeah. So it just became normal.
Speaker 0
But I wonder too is, like, are these employers, are they worried about being put on blast and the social media backlash? You know what I mean? Like, I'm sure that there's a fine line. I don't know. Like, there's a fine line, but, like, what if she was like, well, I mean, this company. Like, I told them my my my mental health is struggling and blah blah blah. Yeah. Like, I don't the I think that there's a that these employers also were tiptoeing, like, you know, how how do we enforce this shit? Like, I don't need
Speaker 1
our employees to be here to Right.
Speaker 0
Function as a company. It's just very strange. It's hard. So very foreign. And to me, I mean, I don't I don't know. It's crazy to me. Like, I've worked a minimum of two jobs since I was eighteen years old. Yeah. A minimum. So we're talking about thirty years of my life. I've worked at least two jobs. Yeah. And I can't ever like, and I want my kids to have that work better.
Speaker 1
Would you say I can't go do a whole, like, Ranger drive to Arlington park, go get dressed up, go on TV, like, stay home stay out till eleven or whatever. Like, if your energy was off, like, how many days would you get your energies off?
Speaker 0
Oh my god. Every day.
Speaker 1
Right. Like, every day. Like, try being
Speaker 1
Mom and working.
Speaker 1
Our energy is freaking off I know.
Speaker 0
Every day. It is better now thanks to my hormones. Yeah. In check and the testosterone. I see Morgan tomorrow. Do you? I'm so excited. Oh my god. This testosterone course The pellets, they're so amazing. And then the NAD plus shots? And That's NAD plus. That's the ones that she has to check with you though about because Well, she has to
Speaker 1
check with me about the
Speaker 0
testosterone too. Everything because you're a cancer survivor. Not to sidetrack, but I'm telling you they're life changing. Yeah. But yeah. I mean, I don't know. It's a very weird time that we're in. Yeah. But, like, there is a lot of just, like yeah. I like, you give some like, somebody wants an opportunity, and then, like, you present an opportunity, and they're like, yeah. That's not Right. That's not the that's not the not the right opportunity. It's not the opportunity I wanted. Right. You know?
Speaker 1
And it's real. And I mean, mental I don't know how you feel about mental health days in general. Well, I think like a standard thing now for a higher Right. I don't know.
Speaker 0
Well, I mean, for me, it's like those are vacation days. Right? Like, they're just I I don't know. Like, here's here's the deal. Like, you've got, you know and I don't even know if, like, sick days and vacation days. I feel like you should just lump them all together. Like, okay. You've got ten days. Do with them whatever you want. I don't care if you're sick. I don't care if you go on vacation. I don't care if whatever you wanna do with them. But here's your ten days. Do with them whatever you want. You know, and then if something comes up, I guess you call in sick, but then it's like, if you're not gonna work, like, don't expect to be compensated for it. So that's fine. It that's I guess that's what I would do as an employer. Like, great. You your energy is off. That's fine. My energy is off from compensating you for your energy. Right? Yeah. You know? I just am not into I'm not into people It's sort there's
Speaker 1
a point where it's taking advantage
Speaker 0
And I'm I I guess I'm just not into you anybody being not expecting to earn something without worrying for it. Right. You know? And I think there's a lot of that. There is. It's and I feel like we're, like, all
Speaker 1
laid good strides probably, but we've made a lot of good strides, I think, when it comes to, like, allowing people a little bit more of a flexible work situation and or Sure. Especially for parents, like, working from home or being able to, like, have your kids run through a Zoom call and no one cares or whatever it is. Like, we've made a lot of good strides, which I think we needed to, but there's you have to draw the line somewhere. It's just like with little kids. It's like if you don't give them a line, they're always gonna try to tiptoe and walk over that line and take advantage of you, and it's the same for our workplace and Yeah. Gen xers.
Speaker 0
But that's okay. Gen z or z.
Speaker 1
I think I've gen there. Yeah. Anyway But no. I think it's I think it's very real. That's probably a
Speaker 0
whole we can have a whole show on that and, like, have people from corporate America for yeah. I think it would be an interesting topic because I think it is a because they do they do worry about, like and also too, you wanna take, like, the mental health stuff. That's serious stuff. Like, I get it. But, like, energy feeling off, like, that's
Speaker 1
Like, so you Come on, ma'am. Become a stronger person from working through Your energy. Your energy Offness. Being off. Yeah. Yeah. Like, you
Speaker 0
Anyway, I just thought that was crazy.
Speaker 1
It is and not shocking.
Speaker 0
And then another thing that was on the the interwebs and the socials, which I thought was kind of cute. Hopefully, it's true. Okay. Pull me up. Fill me up. Okay. Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez are dating. Oh, they're married, girl. Oh, they're married? Yeah. Then what do I know? I think Selena Gomez is adorable. Mhmm. I used to think Or h. Okay. Something. Together.
Speaker 0
I think she's adorable and super sweet and, you know, because we're super tight. But, you know, there the whole remember when I told you I went down that whole, like, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez? Because they used to date.
Speaker 0
I was like, oh my god. He wrote all those songs about her.
Speaker 1
Oh, you, like, went down a rabbit hole and explored them?
Speaker 0
I think it was, like, a couple years ago when I was like I know that you told me about this one year old.
Speaker 1
I did. How did you forget to tell me about it? I don't know.
Speaker 0
I feel like I did tell you.
Speaker 1
The Bieber thing's, like, crazy.
Speaker 0
Right. And so it's like, did he write these songs about her, and does he really secretly love her more than he loves Hailey and blah blah blah, which I don't think any of that's true anymore. But, anyway, she's with Benny Blanco who apparently just
Speaker 1
fucking over her. Adores her,
Speaker 0
which is great. Like, he was like, you know,
Speaker 1
he's broke up. A guy like that.
Speaker 0
Yeah. Didn't we play the clip where he's like, I mean, she doesn't ask for a lot. Like Mhmm. You know, if she needs me to tell her I love her, then I'm gonna tell her I love her. And I'm like, yeah. Penny should be leading many, many men in Right. Marriage counseling.
Speaker 1
We're not that hard to figure out.
Speaker 0
Right. Just do what we ask.
Speaker 1
Just do what we ask and give us compliments. Yes.
Speaker 0
Tell us how great we are. Right. Not that hard. Be grateful for
Speaker 1
all the shit we do.
Speaker 0
Yes. Yes. Be grateful. Speaking of my I don't I don't think my husband knows how to deal with my emotions sometimes. Like, he he's learned over the years, I think. But sometimes he's just like, I don't what? What's happening
Speaker 0
No. He's just like, I I don't really understand what's happening right now.
Speaker 1
And I'm like, hey. What do
Speaker 0
you mean you don't understand? So he I can't help this. I can't help. This is who I am. I'm like, okay. Good luck with that. Anyway. Okay. I So He's funny. Bless. Well, it's not like he's the most compassionate No. Human being on the fucking planet. Like, he's yeah. He's great, though. Right. But he's just like
Speaker 1
he's like most men. Yeah. Like, most men are not. Mine are not either.
Speaker 0
Well and I will say oh, I'll I'll spill my beak like, all these things,
Speaker 1
and then Kelly will be like, cool. So tomorrow When do we get to move on from this? I haven't asked you yet. Can I play golf? Yeah. Like, so and so texted about golf on Friday. Is now a
Speaker 0
good time to ask? I'm like, did you hear
Speaker 1
any of the guys I just said? Yeah. Completely.
Speaker 0
Yeah. I know. Maybe.
Speaker 1
This is why there's so many, women end up, I think, like, with women because they, like, listen.
Speaker 0
Yeah. I know. But because I'm
Speaker 1
not even mushy. Like, I don't need any I'm not, like, dote on me and kiss me and cuddle me. I'm just Right. Acknowledge me. Every once in a while, just tell me
Speaker 0
how great I am. Right. That's all I'm asking. Yeah. Even if you're lying, even if you don't believe it Right. Just say it.
Speaker 0
I'll believe you. But I think for me, I'm skewed because I was raised by my daddy. Yeah. And my daddy did do all those things. Yeah. I mean, he was stern. He was tough as shit, but he also was very, like, overly overly gushy about my sister and I. Yeah. I mean, he just was. And so I think that that's that's a it's a tough place that I not a tough place that I come from, but
Speaker 1
I have a different perspective. Like, open the door for you, like, oh, like gentleman kind of thing.
Speaker 0
Was. I mean, to an extent. But, no, he was he was very much like, you I am you are going to be independent. You are going to be able to make it. Like, you are going my sister and I both, like, you're gonna figure shit out. You're gonna make it. And that that he felt I think he felt like that was his biggest responsibility. Like, I'm going to teach you now, but he would get soft and, you know, like, I remember one year do it. I got the wrong color shoes, and we didn't have them all in Plainview. And, like, it was for some debutante ball or some shit. And he, like, hauled ass as fast as he could to Lubbock and got some shoes dyed and took a patch of my dress. And, like, so, I mean, he would do, you know, shit like that, but he was also too very stern and very insistent on Sarah and I, you know, doing things on our own, learning things on our own, like, being capable relying on anybody else. Not relying on him. Yeah. Right. Except but he was like, but you can rely on me. Like, but I don't want you to rely on anyone else
Speaker 0
If that makes sense. Yeah. So I think that too makes it I'm I'm a little bit of a harder, you know, case study than a lot of women because of that that relationship that I had with him.
Speaker 1
Well, it's interesting, and I think that's imp that's something that's very important to instill in girls. Mhmm.
Speaker 0
Right? Like For sure.
Speaker 1
I mean, the truth is, you can have these big goals and dreams and career goals. And if you marry well, you don't have to do any of it. And I think people can see that that is, like, a legit opportunity to to kinda take the easy way out or to not work as hard or to not follow their dreams. And I think that people who do that might still be missing something big. Right? Like, they might miss that, like, fulfillment for Yeah. Themselves and what it is that they wanna do. So I think it's important to instill that in our goals. Yeah. Like, the way society is, it's like, yeah. You can find a husband that makes a whole lot of money or whatever, and that can be your ultimate goal when choosing a spouse Right. Or a mate. Or you can not worry about that, find someone that's a good match for you and still kind of stay on your path and do what it is that you wanna do that, like, drive you. If you have kids and you wanna change your plans, whatever, that's great. You know? So I don't know. Long that is, like,
Speaker 0
a long way to stay. Totally show yeah. We have two shows now mapped out where we could talk about those You will those documents. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1
And then For sure.
Speaker 0
And then the Gen Z or something.
Speaker 1
But, hey, respect to your dad. I like it. Respect.
Speaker 0
Oh, so anyway, back to Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez. So he okay. It says he debatably takes his missing of Selena when she's not there to another level that when he is not with her, he likes to spray himself all over with her perfume to remind himself of her. He admitted this in a TikTok video to promote her
Speaker 1
new promoting the perfume. That's bullshit then.
Speaker 0
I just read the shit.
Speaker 1
Trying to sell the perfume.
Speaker 0
Okay. That's a great point. Okay. Forget what we talked about.
Speaker 1
He had someone say, promote this perfume and come up with something.
Speaker 0
But you know what, though? You know what makes it it it's believable, though, to an extent because of how much he worships her publicly. So I wouldn't be surprised. I don't think I think maybe we could have left out all over, like, if you just said, like you know, because I remember, like, after my dad died, I would wear this a shirt of his to bed, like, which also sounds creepy. Sorry, dad. Like, it the but it was an old button down, and I wore it for a while just because I wanted to feel, like I don't know. It just was weird. Maybe that's creepy. I don't know. But, like No. You know, you have certain it's like this. I mean, I wear this every day. It was my daddy's. Like, it's I wear it every it never comes off. And so I I think there are things that you do to, you know, remind yourself of the significant other. It does seem a little bit
Speaker 1
I did that, like, I don't know. Maybe when I was a teenager or something. Like, you know, you find the cologne that the guy you have a crush on wears,
Speaker 0
and you smell it, and you're like, oh, love him.
Speaker 1
Yeah. And when Kelly and I first started dating, I did the T shirt thing. You did. Now I just see the T shirt. I'm like,
Speaker 1
out of here. I'm just kidding.
Speaker 0
Put it in the drawer.
Speaker 1
Damn it. You might put it on the ground.
Speaker 0
But, anyway, well, it was a it's a good opportunity to promote Selena Gomez's perfume.
Speaker 0
But, anyway, they do seem like a super cute couple. They do.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Alright. Happy for her.
Speaker 1
Speaking of mental health, like I know. Yeah. She went through a lot Yeah. And she seemed happy.
Speaker 0
Yeah. Good for I like happy people. Mhmm. Okay. TMG News Desk now brought to us by our friends at Tailgate USA. We told them, told you about them last week. So Tailgate use sorry. Good lord. I didn't let you get it together. I mean, I've had half a glass of wine. Tailgate USA is a Texas based company that offers turnkey tailgate party trailers and full service events, including delivery setup, catering, bartending, satellite TVs, and, listen up, ladies, RV style bathroom. So you're not going in those porta potties. So I met Justin Morrison, a couple of years ago. He's been a huge supporter of the Do It for Direct Foundation. We've had him out to our golf tournament, the last couple of years. They set up a Bloody Mary bar, a Bloody Marymar? Did I say it? You just bar. Okay. Bloody Mary bar. You nailed it. Take care of all the things, they can do, tailgates at sporting events, at golf tournaments, at your house, to where if you've ever set up a tailgate, it's such a whip, lugging everything back and forth. So they take care of everything for you. NFL, college football, baseball, soccer, like I said, golf tournaments, charity events, festivals, concerts, corporate events, anything outdoor any outdoor gathering, they can take care of it. Any event, any style, any location, any style any size, you basically just show up. They do all the work. Interesting. And so what they're doing right now for the next month leading up to the do it for dirt event on September twelfth, by the way, I wanna talk about that in a second, is that a portion of every booking that they have between now and then, part of the proceeds are going to go back to the do it for dirt foundation. So, give my friend Justin Morrison, a visit to his website. It is tailgate usa dot net. Check it out. They've got a million different options for you to choose from. Great dude doing great things in the community and providing a great service, especially for, the upcoming football season. The perfect time to, to get some Tailgate USA in your life.
Speaker 1
Yep. Just go have fun.
Speaker 2
Don't worry about all the rats.
Speaker 0
Exactly. But I did wanna promote the do it for dirt event. Yeah. So we've got golf, on so it's a full day blowout. So we've got golf at Grapevine Country Club. Isn't that right? Or Grapevine Golf Course. Whatever. Somewhere in Grapevine. Just go check out the website. Do it for direct dot com. So we've got the golf in the morning, and then we go to Texas live for the concert. And the concert this year, we have the Birddogs opening for and it's gonna be an acoustic set between Rhett Miller and Josh Weathers. Cool. So Josh Weathers and Rhett Miller will take the stage, collaborate, just the two of them, acoustic. It's gonna be so much fun. Like I said, the Bird Dogs opening things up, and it should be a great, great time. And the Do It for Do It Foundation has now raised more than three million dollars, two million dollars, three million dollars. I just looked up the numbers not too long ago. I think it's three million doll it is three million dollars. Three million dollars, helped more than two hundred and seventy five families, and now we are working with Pat Greens Foundation from the money that they raised to facilitate, funds and, resources to the people down in the Texas Hill Country who suffered such tremendous loss during the flooding. So, big, big time for the Do It for Direct Foundation. Please know that, we are a foundation board of six. None of us makes a penny. We have no overhead costs. Every single cent that we raise goes directly to families impacted by sudden loss. So Amazing. Super proud of the Durrett Foundation, event coming up on September twelfth. Please reach out to me in my DMs, in the TMG DMs, wherever. If you want information, we want the golf course to be packed. We want Texas Live to be packed. It's gonna be a fantastic night.
Speaker 0
Thanks for letting me talk about that.
Speaker 1
Of course. That's great. Yeah. I wanna I'll be at the I wanna go to the concert.
Speaker 0
Yes. You have a thing on
Speaker 1
I have a thing there in the day. Yeah. And then, hopefully, maybe Kelly can actually go golf this time, though. Yeah. But, no, I think that's awesome. And it brings up a point just about, like, the whole the camp mystic thing. I'm so glad y'all are actually doing something like boots to the ground of of helping. Because I think I don't know if a lot of people are feeling this way, but I know I am like, driving in my neighborhood, there's green ribbons everywhere. Yeah. This kid's school has green ribbons everywhere. And I actually saw a post, like, on our Facebook thing for the neighborhood that's like, at what point is it a reminder of loss rather than a, like, commemoration of the you know, like, how long does the green stuff last? Like and I think it's just a I'm thinking about it a lot. Like, I'm still thinking about it almost every day. It's it's just crazy. And I don't know. Just I saw, like, even in Highland Park, the elementary school, like, people going back to school and commemorating remembering Yeah. Jamie Hunt and certain girls in the neighborhood. So I just know it's like I just wanna give I don't know. It's not a shout. It's not anything, but it's just acknowledging that, like, this is So I A lot of families still really Yeah.
Speaker 0
Really Remembering the Muckle Roys that Yeah. That so that was, gosh, almost two years ago. It'll be two years ago Thanksgiving.
Speaker 0
And I remember, you know, we you know, for that for we just tried to remember Lauren, you know, for those of you who don't remember the Muckle Roys, were headed down to the Hill Country for or to Austin for, Thanksgiving, and, Lindsay was driving. Zach, the husband, and Lynn I'm sorry. I don't why am I having such a hard time? Lauren is the mom. Yeah. Lindsey is the daughter. Yeah. Played on myself while doing okay. Lauren was driving. Zach, Judson, and Lindsey were in the car. They, got hit head on, by an oncoming truck driver, whatever, and all of them died except for Lauren. Lauren made it. And I remember that whole year after, like, we tried to remember, you know, the thing like that, like, going back to school, like, what that was like in the first Mother's Day and the first, you know, birthdays and all the things. And it's just, you know, you you try to remember all those things, and you try to be mindful of all those things.
Speaker 0
And I I think that those families, and I know Lauren appreciated that. At some point, she's, you know, now diving into other projects. They've set up a nonprofit. So, but I think it's friends. Like, I mean, every once in a while, I'll try to just text her and just be like, hey. Just thinking about you. Like, Henry still draws when he goes up to bat, he still draws a j with a cross Oh. When he right before he goes up to bat. Yeah. And I'll send her that video and be like, oh, he's he
Speaker 1
he's still doing it. Loves them more than anything. And I think people sometimes don't know. Like, do I bring it up? Because then they're thinking about it, and it's sad, but I think you always do.
Speaker 0
I know. And I think that you you you do you're, like, apprehensive, like, oh gosh. Should I send her? And I Yeah. Yeah. And I I think, you know, even as long as your intentions are good, whatever, you know, any kind of comfort or anything that but I remember right after my dad died, like, I didn't for a little bit, I didn't wanna talk about it. Like, I just wanted to pretend like it didn't happen, I think. And then now it's like anytime I get the chance to talk about him, I'm like, let's go. Like, I wanna yeah. I'll talk all about it.
Speaker 1
I remember that.
Speaker 0
And I think a lot of it too is because I was afraid of the emotions that would come with it, and now I'm a little more in control. I mean, you know, nine years later, how many ever it is, it's been a long time. But it's like, you know, you're a little more equipped to to handle that
Speaker 1
without therapeutic. Right? Like, to talk about it and talk to put it all in. Right.
Speaker 0
But, like, not like, you don't wanna pretend like they didn't, you know, that they didn't exist. Like, you wanna keep their memory alive. You wanna want those things to start up within you. So there's no right or wrong. I don't know how we got on this tangent, but there's no, like, right or wrong. But I think you thinking about them is wonderful. Yeah. I think we I think a lot of us do at this point because it is still so fresh and all these things that they would be experiencing that they're not getting. And it's just still so shocking. You know? It's, like, it's just still so shocking.
Speaker 1
It's terrible. Moment you're, like, hearing about the news, and it becomes the reality because you're hearing about it every day, every day, every day. But looking back, it's, like, such a tragedy. And I know it's so terrible, and so shocking. But, yeah, I the one girl that still hasn't been
Speaker 1
That was our my friend's, from high school. That's their daughter. So, like, they finally issued a statement and just saying thank you so much for everybody Yeah. That's been looking and searching and
Speaker 0
yeah. And then how about these crazy fucks that are putting out, like, fake stories about I see so many I saw one about, like, how Steph Curry was at was there And that's when Max Alexander.
Speaker 1
I'm like, like, that do with the the I don't it's not. You can't say it's, like, AI or whatever, but, like, there's so many Internet, like, even on Facebook is where I see most of it. Like, those are these stories, and it just it's totally aggregating, like, views and things that they think are gonna get clicks and hits. But And then I'll go re like, it'll show her picture, and it'll say, like, oh, she was found and here blah blah blah. And then all these people are like, oh, RIP. And, like, just fall for it. And they're like, can you imagine if that Like,
Speaker 0
doo That's what I mean. Like, can you imagine if you're her family? Like, there's no way you could get why is Facebook so fucked up like that? Facebook is so fucked up like that. There must be some I I saw one that was, like, Steph like, literally Steph Curry was there. And I was like, what what?
Speaker 1
Yeah. What just happened? Yes. And I'm like, they're, like, a real human with, like, parents that are look Yes. Searching and praying and distraught. We doing? It's it's weird. It is weird because Facebook, it seems to be the worst.
Speaker 0
Well, shouldn't Zuckerberg clean that up? Like, what can we get that regulated? It should be. Okay. Well, it's
Speaker 1
He's just chilling in Hawaii our list. Or whatever. He, like, off the island and
Speaker 0
Put it on the list. Regulate Facebook.
Speaker 1
Regulate Facebook. You call up Zuckerberg. K. Got it. If he can come right here on the show and face this, face us. Oh, okay. Face the angry mom mom. Big TikTok Julie.
Speaker 0
Okay. Anything else?
Speaker 1
On the news desk, I did wanna touch
Speaker 1
yeah. The Dallas Stars have been in national news, because of their apparent this is the USA Today headline. They control everything how the Dallas Stars monopolized Texas youth hockey. And I think this is obviously relevant to me having been a part of the Dallas Stars organization, and my husband was a part of that Dallas Stars organ Stars organization. And now Ryder's going back to actually play. Like, we just signed him up. You heard the football saga. Like, you didn't make the team or whatever, the daddy daddy ball team. And it's actually, like, now that I'm looking back, I'm like, this is good because this pushed him to go back to, like, where his heart is, which I think is is hockey. So he's playing, and we just signed up, but I'm kinda these headlines are a lot of people have been asking me kind of, I guess, if people are talking about it or what we think about it. And, you know, I think the reality is the stars did do and have done a lot for youth hockey in Texas, and these rinks wouldn't be here. Like, there probably wouldn't be the level of hockey that you can find here in Texas if it wasn't for the Dallas Stars. And at the same time, like, they know that they control. So this is saying, like, how expensive it is for kids to play, like, how much it costs for, you know, registration, how they can control who's coaching, how if a parent comes to complain. Apparently, there's a quote where someone said, well, just remember where you get your eyes from or something to a parent that had complaints about a youth team. We know how crazy youth sports are. You know? What? So imagine, like, all it all funneling to one organization that is a for profit business. And so I think they started it having, like, wanting to grow the game in the community, and and, obviously, anything any kids loving playing hockey helps them, helps sell tickets to the games, helps grow the sport, and all that is amazing.
Speaker 0
So my question is, do they have, like so we've had Karen Morris from the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, and they have the MLB Youth Academy. Like, they have a whole, like, a whole center, that is designed to serve underserved kids
Speaker 0
And give them the opportunity to play baseball. Do the stars have anything like that? No.
Speaker 1
And I think a lot of the reason is because it costs a lot to Yeah. Build ice, like, sheets of ice, maintain the ice. You gotta Yeah. The zamboni. You gotta keep it cold. You gotta it's it's an expensive thing. And but up in Canada, like, they have I think the biggest difference here is the city's not running it. It's not like a rec center. Right. And and you can find that for basketball, soccer, baseball, football. Like, you can find that kinda local place to go prep play and practice. And for hockey, you have to, like, you have to spend money, to do it. In Canada, they do. Like, we went and skated, and it was like a run by the city, and anyone can go. And and the stars are very welcoming with, say, somebody that just wants to go skate. You know, you they'll help you rent skates, and you can pay twelve dollars or whatever, and you can go skate. But it's once they start this competitive thing. It is an interesting situation. That's all I have to say. Like, I don't have a hot take. It's just interesting because it is the only sport like this where it is completely run by a business, like a for profit business. And I I don't know if there were other, like, just rinks that wanted to pop up and do it differently.
Speaker 0
If But probably rinks don't pop up because it's so fucking expensive.
Speaker 1
Because it's so expensive. But it's interesting now seeing it through the lens of, like, my son who's going back into playing, and it is a really expensive sport. Like, he wanted a friend to come, and so the he actually has a friend who's gonna play another sweet boy that didn't make this silly football team, and they're gonna go play hockey together. But, like, to tell them, like, this is gonna cost thirteen hundred dollars just to sign up is Really? Is that much it is? Yeah. Like, it's tough. So Well, I mean And there's
Speaker 0
I say that. See this are, like No. Well, I'd say that
Speaker 1
But it's not club. Like, this is what they call house league. This is just to play, like, the lowest level, right, of hockey. It you have to pay that much, and that includes all their ice time. That includes coaching. So it's not like some of these other sports where, like, you find Joe Schmo off the streets so you can coach your kids. Like, there's gonna be good qualified coaches, but but you still have to go buy all your equipment too. Right.
Speaker 0
So it's just interesting It's, it's on par with baseball.
Speaker 0
I mean, not in with travel baseball.
Speaker 1
Right. Travel. Travel. That's the difference.
Speaker 0
Not with, like, a little league situation. Right. Little league, I think, is, like, three hundred bucks or something. Yeah. And then if your coach wants to have practice, you know, outside of, you know, in a the the way to pay to to practice there, rent the facility out, or whatever. You've gotta pay for little things like that. But Yeah. For travel baseball, that's that's I think that's on par with it.
Speaker 1
And I think that's that's the difference. Right? It's like this is, like, just to get your foot in the door and sort of figure out, like, it's hard
Speaker 0
to Yeah. Well, I
Speaker 1
think you would just figure out if you like a sports.
Speaker 0
What it's like in other I mean, outside of Canada and the other NHL cities, if they do have, like, I mean, listen. I don't know enough about this to make an informed opinion or decision. Not that I'm deciding anything. But, like, it would seem like the NHL would look at, like, what other leagues are doing to try to encourage growth within their game. Right. Like, the NFL is huge right now on the flag football thing. Yep. Huge. Yep. You know, MLB has done these youth academies. You know, I I don't it just seemed like
Speaker 1
But somehow, maybe they would help control the situation. Well But, yeah, when any business takes over Well, I'm trying as much money as they can. For sure. But fault them for that.
Speaker 0
No. Not at all. But it's like, how do we how do we grow that game? Right? Like, how do we not just look at the bottom line?
Speaker 0
Can we make sense of it?
Speaker 1
And they do, like, try hockey for free, so it'll be completely free where kids can go out and they put gear on them and they go see teach them how to skate. Like, they do a lot of things, and they give back to community in a lot of ways. It's just interesting because it's, like, evolved a certain way to where they're the only ones really controlling all the ice. Yeah. And it's it's not comparable to any other sport. So Yeah. Of course, they're gonna try and make money, but at the same time, you can't you've you've gotta be able to hear the family's concerns and and acknowledge them and not just say, like, we've we own you. And Yeah. You know? So I don't know. Dan Stuckel, who's now the Starz chief operating officer, he said we're really proud of everything we've built here. We're committed to continuing to growing hockey in the community and across the state. We've become the model for all nontraditional NHL markets that both the NHL and USA hockey continually point to in terms of how to grow the game because that's the focus for everybody. That was his quote. I mean, this is USA Today, so it's like a big Yeah. I think parents obviously felt the need to speak up. Yeah. And the stars, maybe maybe this will force them to at least, like, recognize what's happening and how the parents are feeling. Yeah. It's just interesting. And so here we go. We're, like, starting now on the path of of hockey and and spending all the money and all that. But as a as parents, we do whatever it takes. Yeah. Right? Like, for for our children. So Sure. Just something I wanted to point out because it is, like, going on right here in our backyard, and it's a big national story.
Speaker 0
Well and I think, like, keep an eye on it and keep us posted. Like, let us know what you're seeing.
Speaker 1
Yeah. I will. And, I mean, gosh. I just love hockey. Right? Like, I just love it. I'm so glad Ryder's playing. It's so fun to watch. It's it's the kids in Dallas are good. Yeah. Like, they we have a really wonderful hockey community here, thankfully, and I'm glad I'm glad for it. And that's all thanks to the Dallas Stars. For sure. But you wanna make sure that, like, people are their concerns are being heard and and these are totally valid concerns. So it's interesting. We'll be following it here on the mom game.
Speaker 0
Okay. Alright. Do we have anything else before we say goodbye? Cheers one more time. Cheers.
Speaker 1
Cheers. Couple hours till pickup.
Speaker 0
Okay. Next week, we have I feel like we have a guest next week. Oh, we have,
Speaker 1
Soul Glow. Tiara Yes. I don't know how
Speaker 0
to say her name right. You'll learn by next week. It's I b e h. Mhmm. So you haven't talked to her yet? No. She's so lovely. Yeah. She's amazing. So she has this whole, like, app, and it's about, like, balances, like, as far as, like, mental health, physical health. She's a former athlete. Her husband played in the NBA and overseas. Like, they're super cool people. That makes sense. Yeah. She's awesome. So she's gonna be in studio Great. Next week. So that'll be fun. And then we have a full report from the first week of school.
Speaker 1
That's right. But yeah. We have the worm queen on deck too, so we need to hurry.
Speaker 0
I know. Have you
Speaker 1
been doing your cleanse?
Speaker 0
I have. Okay. I haven't seen any worms yet. Oh, good. But I feel good. Good. I mean, I'm listen. The shit I'm doing at this point in my life, like the testosterone, the NAD injections, the supplements, the the worm queen cleanse.
Speaker 1
I'm ready to take over
Speaker 0
the world. I mean, I have the strength of ten minute right now. And I'm on a steroid patch because I got some sort of rash on my legs trying to Hell yeah, girl. I mean, I just Cheers to you.
Speaker 1
Bring me along with you. We're gonna take care of the world. I'm still sweating.
Speaker 0
Alright. Let's do it. School's back, you guys. Mom gave out. Mom gave out.
